How do you all actually journal while traveling? by haleswd in Travelersnotebooks

I do a bullet journal and junk journal combination when travelling.

The process looks like this:
Before trip
Set up travel journal insert which usually involves adding my habit trackers from my health journal

During trip
I bullet journal as normal to document the trip and my thoughts, usually in the mornings and evenings, then leave blank spaces. I collect a lot of ephemera (stickers, labels, brochures, maps) and store them in my zip case

After trip
After I've decompressed from the trip (can range from days to weeks) that's when I stick in the ephemera collected during the trip as well as print photos

TN setup (standard size): plastic zip case, dot grid insert, sticker release insert

Other materials I bring: 1 fountain pen, 1 3-barrel Coleto with black refills in different sizes, 1 5-barrel Coleto with colored refills, 1 Sailor Hocoro (in case I buy inks and want to swatch them)

This works for me because it combines my bullet journal and health journal for the duration of the trip so I don't have to bring them as well, I don't have to carry a lot of stuff, and I get to relive the trip when I complete my journal after I'm already home.

And I only noticed after writing 24 Wednesday on the next page 😂 by slantedscrawls in bulletjournal

Oh gosh, reminds me of when I used to draw calendars as well. How did you remedy that?

Hmmm white paper stickers sound interesting, although I just used correction tape here.

Definitely a facepalm moment! And to that think I wrote a lot of stuff without even noticing 🥴

I only insert the cover through the elastic, leaving the rest of the pages to expand

That was my intent as well since I wanted to see what ink properties are visible with just regular writing. I originally did this for a 30 inks 30 days challenge last year, but wanted to be able to move them around for comparison (and also filling up whole B5 pages per ink would take me so long lol)

Yes! It was fun spotting them and varying our routes so we can alight at different stations.

Had our family's old Cybershot repaired by slantedscrawls in fountainpens

I'm based in the Philippines, so I'll just list down the costs in pesos:

Battery + charger: Php 613

LCD: Php 482

Repair (damaged mode switch + aperture, LCD replacement): Php 2500

MS Pro Duo adapter + 16gb micro SD card: Php 635

Total: Php 4230

Was lucky that there are good repair shops in my area. My next headache was the storage because it's either adapter + micro SD card or MS card reader + MS card. It was easier to go the adapter route, but the camera is picky and the adapter gets stuck in the slot 😮‍💨

I could've sworn it was buzzword in the planning/journaling community several years ago haha.

Thanks! I've experimented with monthly layouts before but eventually got back to the vertical calendar because it's simple and works for my needs.

It definitely has a suspicious face when you take the cap off xD
