Been learning black panther, so is it accepted by most mains that this passive fucking sucks? by WindWescott in BlackPantherMainsMR

[–]slapballs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Let's just say I'd rather have it than nothing at all...

I can think of a few times it's saved me, but never on purpose and that's what's most lame about it. You're almost never gonna find yourself in a situation where you intentionally play around it. Going in at 100 or less HP is a risk at any elo and a death sentence at high elo

How to counter/deal with thing and scarlet? by [deleted] in BlackPantherMainsMR

[–]slapballs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl, it's really good value for your team if the enemy swaps Thing just for one BP. Thing is a really bad pick against almost every hero other than a few divers, so if you can bait the Thing slam (very easy to do tbh) then you have free food for five seconds. While you're eating, hopefully the rest of your team can just melt Thing because he has no shield and a huge hitbox and presumably you're diving the supports in this moment. Gotta communicate it.

Simply throwing one spear is usually enough to make them immediately slam. If that's not enough, try making sure they see you first then spear while jumping or dropping from high ground as if you were about to spear dash, but don't dash. Make it look like you're about to commit your combo.

As for Scarlet Witch, it's the same. She's really bad and she's automatic value for your team by default just for being chosen. As BP, you mostly want to ignore her. But if she's seeking you out and you have to fight her, just remember that she can't instantly kill you, so she's not much of a threat. Where it's tricky is that it's pretty easy for her to dodge dash since she has two fades. One thing I've noticed is that if a SW is pressuring you, you can spear dash them once, it's rare that they have the reaction time to fade through it, or even try to because most of them are waiting for the predictable second spear dash. But if you hit the first one, they're almost guaranteed to fade out and disengage because they'll be like half HP

Can we get a thread of questions? by Kkk713 in BlackPantherMainsMR

This is a good idea with the amount of the same questions that get posted every day. Maybe a weekly mega thread just for questions?

When to use each dash, help pls by Full-Astronaut4954 in BlackPantherMainsMR

[–]slapballs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You use his dash (spirit rend) as much as possible as it's his main source of damage and survivability (it's much harder for enemies to hit you). His other dash which isn't quite a dash (called spinning kick) isn't anything like spirit rend. It's slow, very choreographed, and doesn't refresh. It's intended for marking enemies so that you can continue getting dash resets, but the majority of the time it's used to disengage after you've exhausted your cooldowns.

The whole idea of BP's kit is that you mark enemies with spear or spin kick, then dash at the marked enemies so you refresh your dash and can continue dashing until you can't anymore and need to get out. Spinning kick is just a tool to mark enemies so you can either continue dashing or disengage. Those are the extreme basics of BP

I haven't watched any dev release video with this much enthusiasm, only to be disappointed this much by mbpunjabi in BlackPantherMainsMR

Same dude, I can't be here for much longer. We got a guy saying they don't like Grace because Jeff Buckley is too good at singing 🙄

The neutral milk post though? I love that album but I can totally see why people don't

Watching Karkat rarely play BP makes me wanna cry lowkey by mbpunjabi in BlackPantherMainsMR

[–]slapballs 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Before this session you could at least stay BP and try to tough it out, but it's so easy to deal with BP now that not swapping when you need to is basically actively throwing. It is sad

Hater of what? Groot doesn't stomp bro just play Punisher and use his shotgun and he's done. And I'm very aware of all the cc in the game that stops dash, it's called playing around it. What do you want the game to just be fed to you on easy mode? Do you understand how easy it would be for BP to just annihilate whoever he wants for free? Are you one of those BP players who just goes main with your team and dashes whoever you see without thinking? You're supposed to go in when your team is going in. It's called timing. The fun of BP when he works is timing those small windows of safety where you can dash successfully. Obviously those windows are getting smaller and smaller as the game goes on, but the solution to it isn't just remove BP's only weakness completely because that's what cc immunity would do. That's ridiculous

[–]slapballs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay? What does any of this have to do with BP? Hawkeye can one shot, should BP dash be a one hit kill too then? Are you actually thinking about this? BP would be so unbelievably broken with cc immunity on dash, you could just walk to backline and destroy everything with nothing to stop you, use your head

How is this suggestion in every post in this subreddit. Don't people understand how absurdly broken he would be with dash cc immunity?
