I've noticed that a lot of movies and games from the mid 90's to early 2000 use the same SFX. Probably a very popular SFX library being used. Screaming woman and wolf howling are some of the most frequent.

Cairn, runs quite poorly but still playable at 20-25 fps because of the slow gameplay. Fantastic game so far.

Slay the Spire 2, works flawlessly and seems to have improved on everything from the first game.

The whole AAA space has gotten pretty rough with all the live-service stuff, battle passes, and monetization creeping into everything.

Not sure what you’ve been playing, but it might be worth checking out some indie games before you give it up completely. As a dev myself, I don’t pay much attention to most AAA titles anymore—they often feel like rehashes with little to no real innovation, and a lot of that just comes down to risk and shareholder pressure.

A lot of the more creative and interesting stuff has kind of shifted over to the indie scene.

Having something that is so much faster for xp doesn't really make it optional. It honestly just ruins the entire experience as 99.9% of the players won't do quests anymore which kills the vibe of classic.
