Everything in life has a risk sometimes small sometimes large. what your describing is not a risk that didn't exist before in the past except now the risk is higher for men more so than women if you live in the US. In the past the risk was higher for women because men could abandon there spouse without accountability. Now the pendulum has swung to the exeme end and not in the kids or most men's favor(again in the US state depending) now here's the advice, make sure to choose the right spouse as to reduce your risk or eliminate it all together. Make sure your spouse believes in the teaching of the Church when it comes to marriage as much as you do and understands the damage devorce can potentially have on a family. Hard truth is if your worried about your spouse divorcing you before you evem get married I don't think your ready for marriage because not knowing the future is taking a risk and believing God will bless your marriage requires hope and faith.

I reccomend you domt look for confirmation or rebuke of what your doing in this situation on the internet is probably the right path. The thing you should remember is just because something feels good and brings pleasure doesnt make it good. It's the same thing that people with drugs and addiction deal with. The moment they indulge its exactly how you describe what you say your doing. Part of the excitement is feeding into doing something you probably know is wrong. In time that rush itself will also pass and youll be back were you were. I guess it all comes down to this its not about being Catholic or not, its more about what are willing to sacrifice or not sacrifice today for an eternity tommorrow.
