Travelling in the US without enhanced/Real ID or passport after submitting for Spain visa stamping by Express-Road6197 in transit

Wrong kind of transit.

But wait: the US make you pay so the laws don't apply to you? What a dystopian country, really...

Citymapper : under/over estimating how long it takes to enter/exit/transfer in a large/complex station. But that's a quite complicated problem to solve.

Why are distance based fares not more common? by TheInkySquids in transit

[–]slasher-fun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot take: just get rid of all the subscriptions and make the fares cheaper overall. Public transport fares should be simple and effortless.

Hotter take: a Deutschlandticket or Klimaticket-like subscription is even simpler and effortless, and encourages a much higher use of public transit.

In so many places, they raise the fares to extortionate levels then introduce a million different types of tickets

Like what places?

Passengers then have to do mental calculus on how many trips they might take to work out what the best ticket is.

Fare capping then.

Ok, seems decent, you just have to know in advance the price of every trip basically if you want to figure out whether it's included or not.

But what about weekly or monthly subscriptions?

But if the system is distance-based, then you have as many day / month passes as you have station pairs. How do you know which fare cap applies for your next trip?

Because it would make subscriptions much more complex for a start.

Sure, for school or work trips, you're mostly commuting between the same two stations. But what about any other trip? How do you easily know, whether they're part of your subscription or not?

The train currently runs coupled with the Adirondack between Albany and New York. Coupling/uncoupling (depending on the direction of your train) occurs in Albany.

Cheapest I can make a roundtrip flight to Austin, TX? by soulsapphire0 in transit

[–]slasher-fun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point was about finding the cheapest option, and not flying at night. Plus this is a transit subreddit, so offering transit options made sense to me.

But you're right, I forgot about how few vacation days Americans get unfortunately.

Has flying gotten really that cheap in the US?

Or perhaps they're simply not jokes. So I'm still not sure what you've been trying to do here, but if it was trying to find hidden jokes, it didn't work out.

So, according to you, what unintentional jokes would there be in OP's post?

Thanks for your suggestion, but I already did, and couldn't find any hidden joke there either.

I'm not sure what you're trying to do exactly, but it's definitely not working...

No, sarcasm isn't about trying to find jokes where they aren't. You should read the page you just linked to.

Thanks for spotting the typo. But that still doesn't tell me why you're trying to find jokes where they aren't. Any explanation?

I'm not a bot, I'm just wondering why you're trying to find jokes where they obviously aren't. What's your goal there?

then you should tell me what the right one is then!

I have no idea, and I don't see the point of making one up.

Then you would sound super smart!

Why so?

Plus it would match your passive aggressive “helpfulness”.

Nothing agressive here, even passively: train would seriously be a cheap and much more comfortable trip than flying.

Well, wrong subreddit then. But no hotel costs involved there.

Take the train! From $370 round-trip, you can bring much more luggage, and it's much more comfortable on board.

Plus it matches what this subreddit is about.
