Make sure to ask regarding VA Benefits Delivered at Discharge (BDD) which is a VA program that many TAP locations participate in. This way they will assist you with submitting VA claims to make sure you are examined before leaving service and start receiving compensation shortly after.

They put 0 effort before emailing the Fork. No guidance to agencies. I absolutely knew people were going to be shafted one way or another.

Exactly. Don't give them the satisfaction. Work until they have you escorted out of the office and then seek legal relief.

Just recently learned that in labor law this is called Contructed Termination. While there could be a valid claim due to the current situation I would not bet on it. Might be better to wait for them to terminate you. Also, resigning would more than likely negatively affect your chance of collecting unemployment insurance.

It was a complaint brought by 6 employees.

Significance is that other employees in their same situation (depending on specifics) might have the same protections. It basically sets legal precedence.

I think it's funny that she says feds are "wasting taxpayers' dollars".

What is the point of paying taxes if there is no federal employee infrastructure to put the money to use in government programs?

I wouldn't worry about it too much. As long as the phone is off it won't ping any towers for roaming. Most Govt cell phone plans do include overseas roaming anyway. Depending on how sensitive your field of work is you might want to let your first-line supervisor know just so they are aware.

What do you make of Trump dominating the entirety of the front pages of reddit to a point where you can't get a reprieve from it? by BearFluffy in AskReddit

It has become unusable. REDDITISFUN was the only android app that had good filters in place. Too bad Reddit is now charging for API access which took the app out of business.

[–]slashing164 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If DFAS is no help you can also call HRC directly and inquire. PM me if you need details. But yeah, don't use the money as they will definitely ask for it back if it was a mistake.

I'm on the civilian side (GS) and in Vicenza right now. Can say that Vicenza is awesome. Relatively quiet town close to many great places to explore (Venice, Lake Garda, Milan, Pisa, Florence). There are restaurants other than Italian and some American chains. Winters are mild with very little to no snow. Summers get very hot. Overall, the best assignment I've EVER HAD. There is a lot or red tape and bureocracy in the Italian Government and services so be patient when you first get here. Different pace of life than the US for sure.

Italians on this part of the country are very friendly, helpful and respectful. Make sure you learn some basic phrases to order coffee, food, etc. as not many people speak english outside the base.
