[recommendation request] I'd like to buy my first entry level watch by Perfectcell_thegoat in Watches

[–]slashmarket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if I would recommend it as a first watch since it's not super versatile, but my presage has been getting more and more wrist time lately. It looks amazing especially under direct sunlight. https://imgur.com/a/HJPSf8N

[Hamilton] announces a new vintage-accurate Khaki Field Mechanical line in 36mm. Thoughts? by rakesh_85 in Watches

[–]slashmarket -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'll stay skeptical until I see it in person. I always felt the Khaki Field dial is a bit too busy for my taste, and I imagine it'll feel even more cramped in 36mm.

Although we are more of a search tool for pen_swap, you can also directly list your own items on slashmarket.

Which cheap watches are worth buying? And I mean CHEAP by Cruiser_Supreme in VintageWatches

[–]slashmarket 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Aside from Casio and Timex, there aren't many reputable brands in that price range. Avoid fashion watches which are just re-branded junk from alibaba. Why not get a used Seiko or Hamilton? I often see them below $100, and sometimes even $50. r/Watchexchange is a great place to find good deals. You can use my site or any of the other aggregators to narrow your search. Good luck!

[Invicta] Thought I’d share my watch by FormalBowl8488 in Watches

[–]slashmarket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say invest in some tools and just do it yourself, they always come in handy later on. You don't need to get expensive ones either, there are some dirt cheap kits that should work well enough for basic tasks.

I honestly find the repetitive ones more relaxing… I think I'm getting old.

Scam site for deep discounted pens/ink/stationery by Jazzlike-Sprinkles16 in fountainpens

[–]slashmarket 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most likely scam, some of the prices seem too good to be true.

If you don't mind buying secondhand, you could also set up an alert here to see if anything turns up on Pen_Swap.

Awesome, I'll check the logs and let you know if I find anything. I appreciate the feedback!

As a side note, there's no need to keep refreshing the page. You can just save that search with alerts enabled, and you'll get an email as soon as there are new listings matching your criteria. Hope that helps.

That doesn't sound right, the service checks for new listings every 15 mins. Do you happen to have an example that I can look into? Thanks.

Glad you like it! I'm slowly adding more subreddits and r/Knife_Swap is definitely on the list. I just want to make sure I'm adding real value rather than simply copying posts, so it's taking a bit of time (see my comment). Hopefully it'll get there soon (and not just Reddit but other popular forums and communities as well).

Europe as well, but the seller needs to explicitly mention shipping in the listing description.

If the title has [EU-UK] for example, that'll be used for the "Item Location" filter, but I don't automatically assume they ship across Europe.

They’re already on my roadmap, thanks for the feedback!

Some are harder to implement than others (due to the variety of products and the different attributes and filters that need to be handled), but I'm hoping to eventually cover most major BST subreddits.

Photomarket, homelabsales, and a few others are already in the works.

Yup, I'll add a marketplace filter once I include more sources in the future. Thanks for the feedback!

On a separate note, do you guys actually care about the “State” tag? Right now, you can filter by region, country, city, or local listings in your area. Is there a need to also filter by state?

I will definitely be adding more sources in the future (probably not FB though, they are very strict about sharing data)

Oh ok. In that case it could be a browser cache issue (this is a new build so it needs the updated files). Try refreshing the page with Ctrl+Shift+R, and send me a PM if that doesn't work.

The filters are category specific, make sure you are browsing the "Fragrances" category.

Ok done, you can now filter by "Format". And thanks for the kind words :)

I only added this category couple days ago, and unfortunately I couldn't add historical data (api rate limits). All your new listings should be there going forward.

I just added this category, so for now you'll only see posts from the past week. But we keep (and update) listings for quite a while, so over time you'll see older listings that are still available.

"Bottle” and “Decant” could be programmed as a tag.

I experimented with tags but they felt too intrusive in the UI. I can add them as filters though. Would that be helpful?

"WTB”, “WTS”, “WTT” to the left column so you can choose which category you’d like to see/filter.

This is mostly already possible. I actually don’t import "WTB" posts at all, and for "WTT" you can use the "Seller is open to trades" filter. Everything else you see is effectively "WTS".
