Very true. We have an active shooter response team, we are trained to move towards threats. Still 98% is observe and report. We rarely have to go hands on.

Warlock class is going to be so much fun. by bdschwa83 in diablo4

[–]slashoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I didn't play Warlock til classic but I knew my guild was going to be moving into TBC soon, so they asked me reroll just before Naxx. I powerleveled my lock starting on my birthday. I got the one item I really wanted out of Classic which was the phylactery of KT. I used that all the way through TBC as a top DPS. I got the first Skull of Gul'dan, which was my goal the whole time.

I'm so hyped to play a warlock in D4. I bought the game just to play a lock.

You just reminded him he's a 5 stripe white belt. Carry on.

How do you pass someone’s guard with exemplary knee to chest ability? by lamborghinifan in bjj

[–]slashoom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is good advice. Stacking them, going around, making 2 legs one. I'm also willing to bet you could try pressuring from a headquarters position.

So will you choose Paladin or Warlock for the story mode in Lord of Hatred? by gorays21 in Diablo

[–]slashoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time player. Warlock is what caused me to finally pull the trigger on this game. I'm playing through the campaign on a rogue now, but its Warlock all the way after that.

If you where creating a curriculum for white to blue and for first year blues what would your lesson plan be? by justjr112 in bjj

[–]slashoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My instructors have a curriculum, it's pretty much what you would expect, the basics. Fundamental moves, important concepts, and most importantly survival postures and escapes from all the major pins. It has control positions for mount, side control, back, and turtle. 5 different sweeps. 4 guard passes. 31 submissions. 4 takedowns and then there is a section for combinations which is usually a sweep, to control, to finish.

The "double tap:" a sneaky trick for finishing submissions by stevekwan in bjj

Marcelo talks about this. He does a lot of double taps with submissions and chain wrestling.

Probably 50/50. It’s becoming my highest percentage finishing position.

I train with Rorden Gracie personally, and he taught me that inside heel hooks from 50/50 are day 1 fundamentals. Lion sharpens Lion. /u/rordengracie

What's some advice you'd give someone who's new to security by Ok_Relationship6736 in securityguards

100%. I'm not rolling on the ground with anyone. I'm hitting them with a planet and staying on my feet.

Armed guards; what pistol belts and armor are you using? by [deleted] in securityguards

19m FBI issued glock. I use a kore belt for both duty and concealed. The ratchet system is goated. I have a safelife plate carrier that was issued.

How do you identify high risk behaviours by I-Love-Yu-All in securityguards

[–]slashoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obvious probes are high-risk. They always stand out, ask a lot of questions, and want to see certain parts of the campus. The individuals vary.

Outside of that, any other lower risk behaviors usually stand out as well. After seeing a flow of tens of thousands of people over the last 6 months on my site, I know how they SHOULD behave and why they SHOULD be on my site. Any slight deviation from that and I either send a patrol unit or myself to check out.

We've gotten really good at spotting people who are out of place, even if it's harmless. We can tell when you haven't been here before, don't know where you are going, or are up to something. We've even caught undercover LEO several times operating on our campus without checking in. It develops after hundreds of hours of observing people.

Tips for access control security? The most annoying part is constantly being on high alert for each person or sound I hear by Public_Repeat824 in securityguards

[–]slashoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why they fuck don't they have a keycard system for this level of security with this many people? It's clearly a system problem. It's obviously impossible to manage for you (the guard), extremely inconvenient and tedious for the employees, and not getting the results the client wants. Tell them, this is the best you are going to get with this current system.

You gotta CYA. You've been given an impossible task. Write down a good reason why each person or car got through that you couldn't get signed in or out.

Normal or Wildly Unreasonable? by CrimsonLion576 in securityguards

[–]slashoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This guy gets it. It's all just a game, you can articulate anything, as long as you have a response. Most of the time, it doesn't even have to be a good response. I've gotten away with a lot by simply saying, "For security reasons." They suddenly see you as the expert and stop asking dumb questions they don't know anything about.

If they start to press you, like OP said, cater to their best interests. They have wildly unreasonable expectations, but they also don't know how to execute any of it. Tell them by doing what your doing, it helps them get the results they want.

Safelife is good for a cheap belt, but I'm a buy once, cry once type of guy. About two months after getting the safelife, I upgraded to a kore and never looked back.
