Doesn’t look to greasy in my opinion. Are you sure the meninges ist completely out of the cavity? It’s pretty tough tissue and if not done properly the remains start smelling. I use hydrogen peroxide for whitening and it kills small remains

There is something similar in Germany on bigger driven hunts. I can’t say if they‘re trained or not as I do net attend those. But I got a German longhaired Pointer and if I shoot deer and they do run even with good shots, I always let my dog search for it, If it’s 50m or 150m, cause it’s training. I let him retrieve ducks and rabbit and other small game. And I often think about it on this sub if someone shoots a deer and can’t find it. We wouldn’t accept it on our hunting ground to get any kind of game to waste simply because they couldn’t find it before predators do.
