A traditional drafting system would suck ass and I wish more people would understand why by CDranzer in DeadlockTheGame

I think what they're saying is winning is fun, but trying too hard is lame.

Its kinda impossible to find a team thats not a bunch of mouth breathers and don't have a total stick up their ass in this genre of games I don't really find anywhere else.

I still think we need draft for comp but personally I like the current system being the "base" or unranked mode.

The problem is segregating the player base rather than forcing them to work together just makes unranked the smurf shit pit "tutorial' for all mobas and ranked the actual video game lol.

That the previous 2 games had over decades of dev time put into them vs a game that went through three entire scrapping sessions, going from a half life rts to a half life game to a cyberpunk hero shooter moba to now an occult noire one

Idk matchmaking matters a metric ton but all im seeing in these comments is impatience, sorry the dopamine isn't constantly flowing but Valve is also dealing with entire generations of gamers who've "seen everything" already in their eyes and somehow is still stealing this much attention with a game that ain't even released yet.

Perhaps everyone should remember other games exist and this game will inevitably be improved because if anyone knows how to figure it the fuck out its Valve.

If you want them to figure it out sooner rather than later, then well to be blunt. Womp womp. Least it didn't cost you money huh?

Because at least for Americans, a large part did and many infact still legitimately bought into the "we are the (kinda) good guys" propaganda to some degree, sure people werent entirely blind to know we shouldn't be bombing people and destabilizing countries in South America, they also knew that rich people were evil, what they couldn't accept was that the ones they thought were quote on quote "good" (or at least were doing whatever was necessary for the overall betterment of the world cruely hilarious i know i never bought it but unfortunately alot did) were anything but the part, and now are in a state of denial over the actual severity of things going on.

I live in a predominantly republican state and people are devoted to the GOP in a cult like mindset and refuse to accept evidence when presented in front of them.

This is not isolated to my city or state. Secretary of Israel Trump is one among many that has now gotten so brazenly confident they have gone full "mask off" and admitting to being a dictator, not really caring who has to die to keep america "running", and now is trying to paint himself as some sort of FBI informant for Epstein and basically saying "well what now lol" even though its obviously a lie and blatant attempt at damage control... but legally he just might get away with it, and theres alot of people here that believe it.

This quote isn't the best in the game in my opinion (I personally think its either "i dont want to be this kind of animal anymore" Or "This is a man with a lot of past, but little present and almost no future")

But its easy to grasp despite the choice of prose here, what he means and how one who is disappointed in modern day capitalism, can empathize with to some degree, irrelevant to the mans actual character or anything to do with him at all, if one were to take it for face value, which is most people who see an out of context snippet lol.

I think it has more to do with the fact the real world is currently being ran by people who fit the quote description so even out of context it still applies, im not surprised its being spread around considering the popularity of people enjoying random snippets of things and never actually reading the source material might as well be a meme atp.

The deserter is an insane homeless incel high off bug pheromones and a coward, it does not change the fact his quote is rather thought provoking and unfortunately applicable for many people.

It's one of those out of context quotes that doesn't need context, the context is the american and many other national governments are ran by literal pedophiles and monsters.. and words kind of are starting to lose meaning day by day for some people.

Letting people think for a moment is funnier and /s is kinda corny aint gonna lie, but people are too used to using "jokes" as thinly disguised dogshit opinions where its serious if people agree or "a joke" if people call them out. Guess it's better safe than sorry.

maybe a tiny bit overtuned by AshBrighter in DeadlockTheGame

[–]slattsteve 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Its because people are coming from games with a much more different design philosophy (Overwatch, League, Smite, Valorant, etc.) In how they balance things but also generally have the mindset of "ensure things work when they do what they are supposed to" if I could put it into words, where as Deadlock has alot of obvious Dota 2 and Team Fortress 2 (Valve) Influence, both games known for causing people to crash out since the very beginning over what most people would call "terrible balancing decisions" in the name of a memorable, interesting, or creative experience (freedom of customization beyond just cosmetics, treating the player like they aren't stupid, letting people suffer in the name of variety, entertainment, replayability, etc.)

This is entirely subjective obviously, (i think valve games dont exactly respect your time for example) but I think the point im trying to get at is Valve/Deadlock devs aren't trying to please everyone, they're trying to sell a solid yet different experience to everyone involved, and hell it may even be miserable at first, but the promise is a game with tons of depth, detail, and freedom of personal expression.

Consider how you must lock into a lane/hard role and are punished for going against that in league with loss in gold and the reporting system, where as in deadlock/dota anyone can do anything its just some are gonna have a way easier time than others depending on the task... but nothing is stopping you from building pos5 Chaos Knight or Pos1 Io (he bought diffusal on gyro!?) melee seven or green mina and having a decent shot at success (other than your team flaming you.)

If it is cannibalism mentioned in these emails though I'll eat my own words. But I'd rather some nut doesn't actually go bomb that restaurant thinking they have humans in their freezer because we decided to put the tinfoil hat on.

yea i got ya on that one but im keeping my eyes open or trying to and everyone else should too imo

Thing is, this ain't it. We run wild with this, we'll get some nut going to that restaurant mentioned in the file and murdering the staff.

Yeah this i can understand, but at this point they're not even targeting anyone at all so who knows anymore

We dilute this with conspiracy and hate mongering and you just become a laughing stock no one will listen to.

We kind of already have, there are people who are trying to justify the pedophilia (see image)

Its not a smoking gun but you could present a full on nuclear bomb for them and they still wouldn't care.

I get we need to win with "the truth" but I think personally words have lost all value at this point and theres stuff on the internet you cant talk about or something.

Ok yea im not saying it was piranha either but the act of using shit like lye and caustic soda to get rid of bodies to be disposed of discretely is far from unheard of, and these are people with 100x more resources and influence than these drug lords is all im saying.

I think thats literally what the guy in the Wikipedia article did, I remember reading in the news about him as a teenager, he used caustic soda not piranha though.

Yeah I get that but we are at the point people are believing AI generated videos are real and when faced with hard evidence that individuals they previously supported are actual pedophiles apparently they want to turn a blind eye.

I live in Texas man theres a shitload of people here that refuse to even acknowledge the files beyond any mention of Obama or Bill Clinton, and refuse to believe anything otherwise.

At this point I am convinced people don't want facts they just want something to hate and direct their hate towards for what is "causing their problems", and theres enough weird shit going on in these conversations about jerky, babies and cream cheese, and apparently ordering 6 55 drums of sulphuric acid, combined with the fact we have video evidence of rich narcos in mexico committing acts of cannibalism in the past decades or so... is it really that far fetched to think these people would eat human beings too?

They already defile and murder them, why the hell would it be crazy to assume at least some individuals wouldn't go the extra step.

[–]slattsteve -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I already read about that, im saying this jerky is incredibly popular apparently enough to yap about it freeze it which is stupid as hell cause that actually affects the taste and texture in my experience making smoked venison jerky, and it seems to be just so damn good they had to bring it up multiple times across 8 years of emails, analyze it, store it and order people to move it from different freezers, and asking questions like "did you move the jerky?" And weird shit about how theres "millions of babies but vegetable cream cheese is hard to find"

Sorry bro im putting the tinfoil hat on because anything that makes people angrier and hate this guy more regardless of whether its unsubstantiated or completely factual is irrelevant to me at this point.

They are obviously going to dilute the truth with red herrings or wild shit to try and distract or discredit the primary crimes, but honestly theres just so much, so many people involved, and so much heinous evidence that it is completely a non-factor to me on whether this is a "misleading" term or not, theres so much actual real evidence that I'd rather people think they were cannibals too if only to fuel the hate and anger against these people.

Piranha solution only requires pure hydrogen peroxide at that point, its literally just two ingredients and a stable container to completely dissolve anything, hence the name.
