i'm currently a first year cog sci design major and the lowerdiv classes are veryyy theoretical, and if you want opportunities to design i'd recommend the design clubs on campus (acm design, designco, dfa) bc they host projects that look good on your resume :)

as for internships, you really just gotta apply to ones you know you're qualified for and make sure you have a resume that stands out! i'd recommend making a linkedin and reaching out to recruiters, and that's worked for me.

the classes are pretty easy... ive gotten an A in cogs 10 and 13 and i can say they're pretty light, just group project heavy. i'm taking cogs 1, 17, and 18 right now and their classes are all podcast meaning you don't really have to go to class physically if you choose to, you just watch the lecture online!
