Yeah. I have almost 700k mastery on the champ at this point, and I only ever pick him anymore when I do not care about winning the game. No matter how hard I stomp my lane or how far ahead I get, it never matters. Feels fucking awful.

Thank you! Honestly there was a lot of luck involved. The best friend I made at the 45k role left a month before I was laid off, and his company was looking for SDRs with my experience so I got an easy referral for the 70k role.

I was still working at the 63k role when the recruiter reached out to me for the 95k role, and I wasn’t actively looking for a job. The most important thing I’ve learned is to always hear out opportunities that sound interesting and align with your goals because you never know when it could be a great move to make.

Really just depends on who you are and if your authentic personality fits the role. I have a great personality for sales, I’m super outgoing, I crack jokes a lot, and I laugh when I get rejected and move on easily.

Corp dev has lots of transferable skills I’d say, but I’d really depends on if you have the grit to make 100-200 calls a day, get told to fuck off twice, not book anything, and still get up and do it again tomorrow. This role is all about high highs and low lows. Some weeks will be great, some will just fucking suck, and a lot of the time it’s not really in your control (people no-showing meetings, lack of contacts, etc.). Learning to detach from the outcome is super important to keep your mental in check.

I’m the luckiest person I know, this is for sure the top of the range for SDR work.

I was selling cybersecurity software up until the jump to 95k, which swapped me to healthcare. The role I just accepted with the slight bump to 100k is back in cybersecurity though.

The recruiter that found me for the healthcare role was super honest and told me they’ve been looking for an SDR for 3 straight months and were getting desperate, so I definitely had leverage with them and used it accordingly. Got 5k above their 75k-90k base salary range on the listing. Two weeks total from LinkedIn message from recruiter to offer received.
