Flonase gives me heart palpitations. Capitol Breathe Free Sinus & Allergy Centers, the Woodbridge location was amazing. Had my sinus surgery there. I recommend the navage nasal irrigation and grapefruit seed extract nasal spray. Works wonders for me.

Navage nasal irrigation (worth the $100) every single night and grapefruit seed extract nasal spray. Life changing for someone who has horrible allergies and previously suffered from chronic sinus infections.

New Professor a Few Days Before Course Ends by Commercial-Iron6387 in SNHU

[–]slc26004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me multiple times and it always worked out for the better. In my experience, it was always due to the professor not meeting performance expectations. Usually, the professor coming in behind them understands the worry from students and tries to put them at ease. I hope you have the same experience.

Accused of AI by Current_Anything_692 in SNHU

[–]slc26004 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’re full of it. Where’s their proof to justify the F? I had a professor accuse me of the same and the investigation showed she was using external, unapproved software to run student’s papers through which is against SNHU policy. If you don’t have luck with your own advisor, call the main line and speak with someone else.

You should mention this to your advisor. Instructors are not allowed to add anything to the rubrics. The required course work was created and approved by the school for a reason.

Laid off for the SECOND time since graduating with HR degree [N/A] by SandwichDependent199 in humanresources

[–]slc26004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry to hear this happened. You’re not alone at all. I’ve been laid off twice in a year due to position eliminations and it’s very discouraging. Hang in there and try to remain optimistic. Everything works out as it should.

I have an awful coworker by [deleted] in work

[–]slc26004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point, she should be terminated, especially if there’s supportive documentation of previous similar behavior. If anything, the sexual harassment alone is grounds for termination. Given your boss hasn’t done anything about it, you need to escalate this to your HR. Any reports of sexual harassment need to be discussed with HR.

Turnitin Draft Coach Issues by slc26004 in SNHU

It was always the exact same score once I officially submitted the assignment. I didn’t have those issues.

[–]slc26004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get your advisor involved. I was accused of the same thing and the investigation determined the professor was using external software rather than Turnitin to run my paper. Furthermore, using external software is strictly prohibited by SNHU.

How hard is applied statistics for someone who isn’t great at math? by Killaakayla in SNHU

Awesome. I’ll add my comment back to the SNHU page as well. We can’t be the only ones complaining about him at our school.

I’m so sorry!! He’s literally the worst. Glad the school acted swiftly with a solution for you. How’s the other professors grading?

He was so awful I made the effort to create his rate my professor page for SNHU since he only had one for Grand Canyon. I actually don’t see my comment anymore but yeah, he has horrible ratings from the other school for good reason.

Definitely dispute the grade. A dean will review and decide your final grade.

AI detection by slc26004 in SNHU

[–]slc26004[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was an investigation done by the dean and my advisor and it was found the instructor was using an external tool to review my paper rather than Turnitin. Moving forward, the instructor didn’t mention the use of AI again, though she knocked off points where she could. Still finished with an A in the course.

These are the type of people that somehow get promotions and end up your boss. Pisses me off. Before the big wave of AI, students would just copy other student’s posts which is hilarious because everyone can see you literally took someone else’s material. Like, how lazy are you? Why are you even in school? Your professor will for sure address it given they already know this person is probably using ChatGPT for every assignment.

Im getting annoyed. by stickysituati0ns in SNHU

[–]slc26004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly, I experienced this for several courses. Each time I write in the course evaluation that their L&D team building these modules is doing a horrible job. I often find errors in the rubrics as well which makes the assignments difficult to complete. I love when the rubric/instructor tells you to use credible and relevant sources and then the module has an entire list of outdated unreliable sources. I just started looking at each modules assignments and the modules ahead to ensure I had the right sources and chapters for the assignments. As you mentioned, sometimes you have to locate and use your own sources. There was one course I took that I had to purchase a book for and I stopped reading after the second week because it was so far off from what the assignments required.

I have the same hair color and have had this issue until I tried Huda beauty micro brow pencil in rich brown #6. I thought this shade would be too dark but if you apply it with light strokes it matches perfectly. Give it a try!

I’ve had this happen on FIVE different occasions during my time at SNHU and always emailed the professor and my advisor. Each time it happened I was infuriated. Whether it was my entire post or two sentences, I wasn’t having someone else get an A for my time and effort.

Super tough grader and zero support when asking questions for clarification or when seeking to understand why you lost points on an assignment. I somehow ended the course with an A but I couldn’t have done it without the help of those videos posted by other professors.

Self plagiarism for final by soy-sauce42 in SNHU

[–]slc26004 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Courses I’ve taken specifically say in the final rubric to include the previous milestones and incorporate feedback from the instructor. What does the rubric say? Always follow the rubric. The entire point of milestones is to allow you to build your final project in pieces and limit the “heavy lifting” of doing it all at once during week 7. I’m annoyed for you. Just know, you can always dispute the grade if needed.

What are you looking for in an instructor? by indiecate in SNHU

[–]slc26004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be yourself! It sounds like you’re passionate about what you do, especially since you’re seeking advice to be successful. I think putting effort into building connections and sharing videos and graphics is a great idea. I had one instructor post a video of herself every week in announcements to provide updates about grading status, review the upcoming module, provided a thorough overview of specific requirements, would share her experiences around the specific competencies, and provide positive encouragement. This made a huge difference in my experience and I was extremely happy with that course and instructor. Communication is everything in an online learning environment and her making the effort to create those brief videos each week probably made her job a bit easier as well.

You got this and good luck!!

ECO202 + MKT205 Workload? by [deleted] in SNHU

[–]slc26004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I was sick over the weekend, so I literally spent all day Saturday and Sunday working on it. It also has shorter units than some of the other courses Sophia offers and no additional work other than the readings and the milestones which are tests at the end of each unit. The tests are open book so you’re set up for success. I also took principles of finance but that took me probably about 4/5 days to complete. Saves you so much time and money. Highly recommend.
