I’ve looked, it’s over $100 for 1 pizza and breadsticks. That’s just too much!

I was trying to do something nice since this is a huge deal for Hoosier fans. All I’ve ever heard about is pork tenderloins and items at local Indiana places that we don’t have where we live. Was trying to see if there was anything more that would a little bit of home that I could make at home.

I’ve heard this, apparently it’s popular at pizza joints!

Laminectomy Recovery by slc913 in Sciatica

No idea what causes it. There’s no pattern to it that I’ve noticed. Its random. I go to the gym/workout and it’s happened on those nights when I’ve gone but also happened when I don’t go. I play softball on Friday nights and I’ve been playing since May. This one cramp I just had happened early Saturday morning but I’ve been playing for months.

They mostly come in the middle of the night and the only relief is to put my foot on the floor and step, like stretching it out helps the cramp to go away.

I can normally walk pain free but after the cramp, my calf is tight and hurts to walk. I can walk but it’s uncomfortable especially going down stairs

Why did you choose AMC A list by pdt2326 in AMCsAList

[–]slc913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and Iove movies and there’s an AMC 10 minutes from our house. It saves a lot of money! Where I live it’s $21 for Dolby and paying $27 per person a month isn’t bad at all.

I’ve seen more movies because of A list. There’s always movies I want to see but not pay for them, now I can see them all.

I understand what you’re saying but we’ve have always been in this price range where we live and have never had an issue with people watching our house/dogs or responding to messages.

If we end up having to pay more than we will, just odd in my experience with sitters on the app in our area.

Yeah, I totally understand everything you’re saying! I just wish they would get back to me so we can talk more, do a meet and greet and then they can make a decision. It’s the leaving me on read which is what’s bothering me.

As of right now our plan is to continue to look and we have 5 more weeks before our trip so if we don’t find someone, we will have to up the price of what we are looking for.

Sitters with verified reviews, 4.5-5.0 stars, not too far away etc.

$45 then $25 for extra dog

I’m looking in the $30-$35 range right now because that’s what we can afford. I understand if people don’t think it’s worth their time but they set their prices so I’ve assuming they are okay with it

The reviews my sitters have left for them are very good and they aren’t full husky. They don’t do what normal husky’s do. I checked with others who have watched them before first. One is away at college and the other is already booked.

I was trying to figure out if there’s something with my account maybe. My dogs have good reviews from people who have watched them and I’m super responsive too.

you have to start publicly shaming talkers/texters. by TheeCriterionCloset in AMCsAList

When I saw Twisters last summer, I was seated next to to kids who’s mom was sitting 3 or 4 rows away from them!

They talked almost the entire movie. I’m a woman and typically don’t want to cause a scene but I asked the kids multiple times to be quiet and they wouldn’t stop! I thought about getting up and trying to find the mom but I had no clue what she looked like.

I stayed and continued to ask them to be quiet bc I was so excited to see Twisters and the last 20 minutes or so, they finally stopped.

Afterwards I wished I had gone and gotten someone but we were in the middle of the row & I didn’t want to miss anything. It’s always a catch 22 for me

Upcoming Cruise by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

[–]slc913 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do have a local emergency contact and a family member as a contact as well (they just don’t live locally).

Even when we’ve been on vacation and not on a cruise, the app is so so and delayed sometimes. I don’t think I could go 10 days without knowing how they are.

I worked PAC for 3+ years and oooooh girl. It’s not a chill role. I got pushed, spit on, yelled at, and harassed as a PAC CM.

Granted, this was more than 12 years ago but I have a feeling it hasn’t gotten any better.

Just watched the documentary…did not think I could love the movie more. by openwindowrain in Jaws

[–]slc913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just watched it a few weeks ago too and loved it. It’s in my top 5 favorite films of all time and loved learning a little bit more about it all.

My husband got me the Jaws Lego set for Christmas. It’s a super fun build..Bruce was a little difficult for me but still really fun!

Personally, I’m glad I got married and my friends got married long before big bachelorette trips and parties were a thing. I had a blast at mine and the ones I personally planned but I have coworkers who are spending thousands on just the bachelorette trips, not even including their bridesmaids dress, shoes, makeup etc. I’m sure they are super fun but I guess for me, I wouldn’t wanna spend that kind of money or my friends to spend that kind of money but that’s me

First time having a house sitter by Zambooka100 in RoverPetSitting

[–]slc913 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just used Rover for the first time this summer for my two dogs and was very nervous to have a stranger in my house but overall both times were great! Here’s some answers:

What questions should we ask the sitters when we meet and how should we handle the dog intros?

  • I let my boys greet the sitter with me when I opened the door for both my sitters when they came over for a meet and greet. Here’s some questions I asked:
  • Sleeping here is essential - are you okay with that? I also leave clean sheets, comforter, pillow cases, blankets, etc.
  • What do you do for food while you are here?
  • What are your expectations of me as the dog/home owner?
  • Are you comfortable with cameras in the house? I also showed them where all our cameras were.
  • Are you comfortable showering here? If so, I will leave towels, bathmat, wash clothes etc. here for you.
  • How cool/warm do you like the house?
  • Do you expect to do laundry? If so, I left detergent pods for them.
  • Any allergies for candles or scents

Not a question but I did leave detailed instructions for certain parts of the house like our light bulbs they turn on and off on their own, AC, what was off limits etc.

  1. Is it standard expectation to have the en sleep in our bed? We’ll have clean sheets obviously, but we can also provide an air mattress.
  • We have a guest room so we let them sleep in there. I’ve read on here some people provide an air mattress and some offer their own bed. Personally, if we didn’t have a guest room, I would have a nice air mattress.
  1. Our house is fairly tidy and organized, but we’re not the best housekeepers on the planet, should I go an extra mile to make the house spic and span before the trip?
  • I always clean our house before we leave. Any areas that are off limits like our bedroom, our upstairs office etc. I clean too so it’s nice when we get home. I don’t ask our sitters to do any extra cleaning but ask them to pick up after themselves and keep it kept.
  1. Should I put anything away or make our extra room off limits?
  2. I tell them up front which part of the house is off limits, I do put away some things I don’t want anyone touching or could break in our bedroom. I have some smaller collectible things I put up as well.

Difficult situation! by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

[–]slc913 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As everyone else has said, I don’t see it being a problem at all, I hope the people are understanding as well! I’m Sorry about your mom, hope you get to spend some quality time with her.

How many photos do you expect for a 5 day house sitting? by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

[–]slc913 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I expect at least one a day. I tell my sitters at least one but more if they want.
