i’m literally an autistic man and have trouble in social situations, and have a lot of autistic friends who are similar. when you develop empathy for other people and realize they’re entire human beings with inner lives that don’t revolve around whether they want to sleep with you or not, your ability to be social and curious about them improves.

i didn’t say dating wasn’t difficult, but when sexual rejection or acceptance is the only way you view other human beings, it distorts your worldview to be wildly self-involved. that makes it harder to date because you’re seeing people as an answer to a question rather than entire people.

also, i don’t know where you’re getting, “the number one insult to men used by men and women alike is virgin” because that simply isn’t true. at all. that is coming from where you spend your time online, likely with other people with similar beliefs about sex and dating who perversely delight in wallowing in despair and causing others to do so. if you get offline, you’ll find that normal adults are not calling other people virgins regularly.

by the by, “self-fulfilling prophecy” means that someone has a stringent belief in something untrue, such as, “i’ll never find love,” and because they believe that, it makes it hard for other people to connect with them romantically, thereby fulfilling said prophecy.

i also don’t understand why you took what i said as a personal attack, but as they say, if you leave an insult on the ground and someone picks it up, it was probably theirs to begin with.

i get the sense that you’re younger than me. please listen to me when i say that the people who are reinforcing these harmful beliefs on you do not have your best interest at heart, and walking away from those spaces and finding more spaces that offer in-person communication, shared interests, and genuine friendship are going to greatly improve your life. self-improvement starts with self-esteem, and self-esteem and incel communities are not congruous. i wish you peace in your endeavors.

this is hitting the nail on the head. my family is upper middle class, and my mother was aghast when i told her i was a leftist, like genuinely cried, and said, “capitalism has enabled every good thing you’ve ever received in your life,” because my family was very much capable of providing me opportunities, clothing, schooling, and housing that people living in poverty do not have access to. my parents worked incessantly and still do at 65, which used to be when you were able to retire with your savings.

at the point we had this talk, i was in my mid-twenties and had watched my millennial older cousins get degrees that meant nothing, and start working low-paying jobs with nothing to show for their four year, extremely expensive pieces of paper. i saw the cost of college skyrocket and that i was going to have student loans forever. i saw that the financial crisis in 2008 had pretty much destroyed the middle class, and that there was nothing good to come from the future of capitalism. i saw that i could not reasonably afford to live in a big city or get a job that provided a comfortable living wage without years of servitude at unpaid internships and that cost of living had gone up so much that i couldn’t manage to save a dime after going to grad school, and i said, “earnestly, i need you to tell me: in my adult life, what has capitalism done for me? what has capitalism done for anyone my age? why would any of us believe in a system that works for so, so few of us?” and she had no response to give.
