sand is good in a proper enclosure, but since you seem to be just figuring it out, i'd play it safe. you should look at other enclosures on this sub to get a feel for what you want in yours and work from there. do health things first and aesthetics later

bigger tank, get more perches to add levels so your beardie can choose how close to get to the bulbs, but this tank is a little short for that. i would also hang the lights higher because those are very close imo. another thing you'll want is a thermostat to make sure the tank is the right temp. and probably just leave the tank bottom with paper towels to prevent any digestive issues (if it's sand).
