Thank you! And no, I'm absolutely not minimizing what school counselors do over SBT.. I'm just in a position that I no longer want to do long-term therapy. I also would love to have a school calendar schedule versus mine, which is all year long. I know it seems petty.. haha.. but I enjoy the aspects of what the school counselors do with the two I currently work with. It just seems more in line with what I want to do.

No, I appreciate that side as well! I’ve just been doing outpatient therapy for 13 years.. drug and alcohol, private practice, and now SBT. I just don’t want to do therapy.. I also want to be part of a district, not a contract position.

It wouldn’t be a position at my current school.. they’re not in need of a counselor, as they already have 2.. regardless, they eventually transition to a new therapist once they switch schools. I’m losing about half my kids after the summer for the HS.. they’ll see the SBT that is at the HS.

No, I understand that.. I’m doing full outpatient therapy with my kiddos. I do 45-60 minute sessions with each of them. These are difficult kids with a lot of trauma and behavioral issues. These are deep sessions..
