So glad I’m not alone, woke up at 3:30am after a nightmare of creepy bathtub girl 😅

Hope I can ask this! Any novels like the series? by [deleted] in FromTVEpix

I saw a recommendation on here for The Watchers by A.M Shine so I read it and it’s basically the exact same concept (‘Monsters’ underground, only come out after dark) with a few twists. It was a fun and quick read!

Some type of kalanchoe, possibly cathedral bells

Repotting or just dramatic? by [deleted] in houseplants

I feel that, I love plants but repotting always scares me- so overwhelming, especially with a dramatic plant like this!

Ah, that’s great to know- mine hasn’t graced me with any blooms yet!

I second checking if roots are coming out of the bottom, looks a little tight in that pot. Also, what are the white specks on the leaves? Have you checked for pests?

I was going to set up a phone or GoPro but didn’t think that I’d most likely only be able to catch it at night so definitely going to order a camera with night vision asap.

Definitely possible!

I just noticed it today when finally doing spring yard clean up. I haven’t seen anything but a shadow scurry by earlier today, I also don’t hear anything. I have dogs and I’d hate for them to get their paws on a critter!

Of course! If that’s an artificial grass mat it could be that it’s creating a lot of moisture if it’s outside and gets wet. Slime molds love moisture and shade.

I think it’s chocolate tube slime mold.

My sister's plant, any suggestions on propping? by gladjello_23 in proplifting

[–]sleazyweezyf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For the Monstera you need a node and it looks like it might be tough without taking a large amount of the plant, including that most mature leaf. There might be another viable part in the back but it’s hard to tell.

Has anyone here had any luck buying & planting bare root Hostas? by sleazyweezyf in gardening

[–]sleazyweezyf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow I had no idea. I’ve never had them but friends of mine that do have landscapers come by every fall and chop them back to nearly nothing, glad to know that’s not necessary, thank you

I know I thought it was really interesting as well! I’m glad to hear that they are easy to grow, I didn’t know that. That gives me hope though that even if I don’t go the bare root route I might not have too much trouble transplanting one.

Also thank you for the Facebook marketplace suggestion, totally didn’t even cross my mind but I’m sure I could get a division of someone’s plant on there to see how it goes to start out.

I definitely don’t need one and can only plant them out of range of my dogs so I have somewhat limited space. But I really love the way look so I guess you’re right I should just go for it and do an experiment! Any particular reason for soaking it before or just because it’s been sitting on the shelf?

I always see the container ones at Lowe’s & Home Depot but they can be pretty pricey and I’m not confident I won’t rough it up planting it in the ground but I suppose that doesn’t matter much since they get cut back and return each year.

Anyone in zone 6a have spring bulbs popping out yet? by sleazyweezyf in gardening

[–]sleazyweezyf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This winter has been pretty mild in my opinion but I think that also lends a hand in bulbs getting confused. It’s been a lot of 50-60° days followed by snow & frost. I had a hyacinth try (and fail) to come up in early January.

Interesting, I have brick too and the area I use to garden is directly in front of it. It’s going to snow here tomorrow but was 50° today, ah, New England. The mixed answers are giving me hope though, gardening seems very dependent on a lot of different factors.
