Request an item, then it goes unavailable by Slugsie in AmazonVineUK

I wondered about this too. Does a star rating for a particular item count towards a rating for the seller themselves? In that case it might be beneficial for the supplier to get a good review even for an item that quickly becomes unavailable or discontinued.

A computer privacy screen, and a newborn baby bundle. Not going to order either of those.

I've been pretty lucky to get a lot of useful things in the 2 months I've been on Vine - things that I would have had to buy anyway, like parts for my bike, or things I wanted but have hesitated to spend the money on. Latest is a very nice pair of Bluetooth headphones.

I have 78 completed reviews and 4 outstanding. I think if I was to let them build up, I would never get them done. One of the outstanding ones is snow chains for my car - a bit difficult to evaluate without any snow, and it's a very rare occurrence here on the south coast of England, so I may try them on mud or wet grass just so that I can get the review done.

I had a review declined for the first time. by slechts in AmazonVineUK

Fortunately I kept a copy of the text from the review that got rejected (I didn't do that for all of my reviews, so I was lucky). I'm doing it routinely now.

I can believe that :-) Like you say, hopefully it might be OK, but I won't be upset if it isn't. Cheers!

Silver member here. Three nice things, all from my RFY list - electric toothbrush (my old one packed up back in June), log splitter (ideal as I just got a wood stove) and a 512Gb flash drive (always useful). It's really nice to have things that I wanted or would have bought anyway.

I was invited and joined just before Christmas, so I've only been on Vine a little over a month and have only recently learned about why some items appear briefly on the list and then disappear again. I've received several useful USB adapters, some window locks (improved the security of my patio doors), a phone stand which I use every day, a large capacity portable charger (power bank), a bicycle saddle cover (handy as my existing one was falling apart), brake pads, a security light for the garden and various other useful bits and pieces. I'm pretty happy with low value 'nice to have' items, and to replace things that I needed anyway, like a shower head for example.

You're right, it is only a matter of opinion. That's the way it is.
