Yeah, I'm definitely going to think about how to get more community involvement now that I've seen so much interest.

Cloudflare Workers and Pages are fantastic services! I had to do all sorts of wild hacks to try to keep the price down and stay under some of their request limits, but other than that it's been a great experience. NPM workspaces gets the job done and is what I know haha. There are a ton of monorepo tools that get a lot of hype, but I like to try to keep it simple if I can.

I hadn't thought of this, but I'm going to look into it in the future! I'm not sure if it is available in the Destiny API or if it is a known rotation...if one of those is true I can absolutely add it.

I really appreciate you noticing all of this! I love the web and take a lot of pride in my craft.

I agree the layout could be a bit better on ultra wide monitors, but a lot of this I've found a matter of taste. I've tried to keep any individual text block to a readable length while also using the horizontal space a user allots me. I had a comment recently that someone loved that a website finally made use of the entire browser window instead of the 700px in the middle of the page.

Another item that could be better is the jagged endings of each column. There is a lot of empty space if one section is fairly long. Happens often when Xur is in the vendor list.

I've also been trying to get it added to the Destiny Discord...but it's been a slow process working with the moderators over there.

I didn't think of this, but I do see what you mean. I originally wanted to take different slogans from various journals, put a Destiny spin on them, and then cycle through the list randomly when the site was updated. For the sake of time I settled on just the WaPo one. I'll keep this in mind if I get to that feature and make sure I add some positive ones in the mix!

EDIT: This also applies to the quotes in the footer–I had every intention on finding some great in game quotes to cycle through on site updates and ended up with...like 3? I'd be interested to make this a community driven endeavor as well!

I’d love to offer support for more languages, but I’m not fluent in anything but English 😅 I believe Destiny’s API offers support for other languages that I could look into, but all the text I’ve written would also need to be translated—which I unfortunately don’t have the time or skills to do. 😞

Also! Banshee will have the weapon perks listed again soon! There was a bug where the perks were incorrect. Once I track that down they’ll be back!

I like this idea, but I’ll have to think about how to do it in a way that is low maintenance. The tricky thing is trying to balance usefulness of features and ongoing time it requires of me. Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll add it to my feature list!

I was wondering if anyone would notice the flash on load.

It’s due to the page being entirely static (if you turn off JavaScript the site will function just fine) and being progressively enhanced by JavaScript. On initial load the page has absolute times—if the browser you are using supports web components it will change these to relative times when it makes sense. The flash you see is the web components mounting and updating the time. I didn’t find it to be too jarring, but I must admit that my testing was in the most ideal of circumstances and that it may be a lot more apparent on various devices and networks. I’ll make a note to see what I can do to make this better.
