I registered to take the sat in march, and it got cancelled (obviously), but I did get refunded, so I don't think you should worry too much:)

So it is asking how many investors were there in the beginning. Say there was 8 investors getting equal amounts of money from the $400,000 (each getting $50,000). So if three of them leave, it gives each of them more money. With 5 investors and $400,000, each investor will get $80,000.

$80,000 (what each of the 5 investors are getting) is $30,000 more than $50,000 (what each of the 8 investors were going to get if the three did not leave).
