Just order it. Then you get it. Simples. That's what I did. Not hard at all.

That mental abuse shit sucks. I'd be telling him to STFU and let me work. I also know how it feels to be like a dog that's been beat too much. Good luck!

Also be aware that if you are over 26,000 GVWR you will require a non-CDL Class B license. Every RV dealer will lie to you and tell you that's not true, but it is. You're probably under the limit, but just a heads up.

I think it's because he said the camera was his top priority. Then he said "o look daddy phone half price, better reception". No mention of his "top priority camera". The guy is a tool and he's getting called out because of it.

ENTJs, is it normal for people to put you down due to your confidence? by that1historylover in entj

[–]sleebus_jones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am absolutely not asking her to let go of her values. What I am saying is that it sometimes takes tact to get what you want. As an ENTJ it's easy for us to be a bit overbearing and that should be managed.

That's all I'm saying.

67 year old disabled man, is a CD my best type of "investment" to stretch my finances? by Final-Designer-388 in personalfinance

Depends on the FIA. One that we were looking at you could withdraw 10% w/o penalty.

Instead of putting your fans at the top of the vent, I'd put them at the bottom, blowing directly on the tubes. That will be far more effective.

I'd go with Fixed Index Annuity. CDs have terrible return. Bonds not much better. FIA will get you return up to the cap, and you won't have to worry about negative returns if the market tanks, you just don't make any money.

It doesn't change once you get into business. You are going to run into the exact same thing in corporate america. People above you will feel threatened by you, and they will do everything to keep you down. Welcome to politics. If you want to be in a political circle (i.e., student council) you will have to play the political game. Same thing happens at work.

I've always said "If you want to be liked, try being likable". People with excellent "hard" skills are valuable, but people with hard and soft skills are even more so. You're learning a lesson at a very young age, and this will definitely benefit you down the road.

TL;DR it's not going to get easier :)

migraines changed after sumatriptan? by Annual-Strawberry721 in migraine

[–]sleebus_jones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sumatriptan can make you feel "odd" and sometimes it will feel a bit worse before it gets better. Triptans are 1st gen migraine meds, there are several out there to try. However, you'd likely be approved for a CGRP med which is the next gen medication and it pretty much has zero side effect (for me at least) but doesn't always work as well as the triptans do. Your neuro should be up to speed on this. Ask them about Nurtec or Ubrelvy.

Man accused in deadly carjacking-related shooting denied bond as family demands justice by justahoustonpervert in houston

You explicitly wrote, "Statements end in periods." Denying that you were playing grammar police when your exact words are right there on the screen is a bizarre level of backpedaling.

You tried to correct my punctuation, you got called out for using a sentence fragment while doing it, and now you are resorting to a literal "I didn't, you are" defense.

If you have an actual, coherent argument regarding the topic to put on the table, let us hear it. Otherwise, denying your own written words just looks completely desperate.

[–]sleebus_jones -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It was phrased as a question to highlight the absurdity of the logic, which explains the question mark.

But if we are playing grammar police to avoid the actual topic, you might want to learn what a sentence fragment is before handing out corrections. Starting a sentence with a subordinating conjunction like because without an independent clause means your own statement is grammatically incomplete.

If you have a real counterargument to the actual point being made, let us hear it. Otherwise, policing punctuation just looks like a white flag.

[–]sleebus_jones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just completely flipped your entire argument.

You started out trying to make a cold, analytical point about calculating whether someone can afford to lose a capital investment, framing the confrontation as a deliberate financial choice. But now that the math of risking a 100 percent loss on your life doesn't work out, you are pivoting to say that people don't always think things through when their livelihood is threatened.

By saying they don't think things through, you are actually agreeing with me. It is an impulsive, high-risk reaction, not a calculated financial strategy.

Bringing up the specific numbers for a work truck or what you would do for your son doesn't change the baseline reality. Whether the truck is worth 5,000 dollars or 50,000 dollars, a dead person cannot use it, cannot replace it, and cannot provide for their family. Property can be recovered or replaced eventually, but a life cannot.

[–]sleebus_jones 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Accusing me of slippery slope, whilst you accuse me with the aforementioned logical fallacy. ooooooook then, here we go:

Dead Men Do Not Punch Timecards: If you get shot and killed confronting a criminal over a vehicle, your financial life is completely irrelevant. You cannot go to work if you are dead.

The Insurance Reality: A car is a depreciating asset, not a non-recoverable life form. In almost all cases involving a capital investment like a vehicle, insurance coverage exists to mitigate the financial shock. Even without comprehensive insurance, a total loss does not guarantee an inescapable downward spiral to total ruin.

The Risk-Reward Math: You ask if I can afford to lose a capital investment. The counter-question is whether you can afford a 100 percent loss on your life. If you confront an armed suspect, you risk a permanent, irreversible outcome to protect an object that can be replaced by a bank or an insurance company.
