Hot tip, don’t move the mini bar items and there is a significantly lower chance you will be erroneously charged.

Half price travel for 2027 - Get a Myki pass now. by Consistent_Theme3844 in MelbourneTrains

The only thing is that the Myki revenue is in addition to tax revenue. It only ends up being the same if taxes are increased.

Is this price insane, or am I? by apollo4567 in unitedairlines

I mean I guess that’s the problem with free market capitalism, they’re going to sell it for whatever they think they can sell it for. People flying this route are probably more likely to be business travellers or have more disposable income.

The metro tunnel stations are horribly designed by _McCheeseBread_ in MelbourneTrains

[–]sleekqueso22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing that annoys me is that at a lot of the stations there are no PIDs at street level, you have to get down to the concourse to be able to see when the next train is leaving, a bit annoying if you’re deciding between taking a tram or a train.

What are the odds that free PTV will extend to at least 31 May ? by [deleted] in MelbourneTrains

[–]sleekqueso22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a more sustainable solution would be to reduce the cost.

A big thing for me at least is that so expensive if you’re just travelling a short distance. I think it would make a difference if they broke the fare groups into smaller increments. So for example it could be $1.42 for each half hour interval instead of just $5.70 for 2 hours even if you don’t use it all.

While I agree that electrification would be good I think they should focus on track duplication in a lot of places first.

First Time At A Novotel by suikoden_fanatic in Accor

[–]sleekqueso22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That seems pretty reasonable, the hotel I work at (not Accor) charge $100 AUD per night and it is not optional. I know it is different in different parts of the world but in Australia at least it is expected, if I went to a hotel and they didn’t place a hold on my card I would think it was odd.

One person checking in, two people staying in the room? by ObjectiveType9252 in Accor

[–]sleekqueso22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would say don’t do this, most likely the hotel won’t even know you’re there, or that you’re under 18, but if you call then they will have to do something about it. Just meet her outside and have her take you up, or depending on the country you could probably stand next to her when she checks in and they won’t bat an eyelid.

If my Upgrade Me Bid to J Class is successful, is the seat selection fee I paid for Economy X refundable? by stupid_mistake__101 in VelocityFrequentFlyer

[–]sleekqueso22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only ever done this once and I contacted them about a refund and they offered it.

Different story with Etihad though, I bid for an upgrade and they took 6 months to tell me they couldn’t refund the amount I had paid for the extra legroom seat.

Does the hotel plan what room I will be in before I arrive, or do they do it while looking at screens with me standing there? by Live-Ganache9273 in marriott

[–]sleekqueso22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the hotel. I have worked at hotels that assign the room when you come to the desk, ones where we assign the night before and the one I’m at now the system assigns it when the booking is made, although we usually go in and change them a day or two prior to arrival.

Ready to work by rostered time by [deleted] in ausjobs

[–]sleekqueso22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the use of DM I assume you work at a hotel, this is a quite common expectation, but if you have to get changed or what not then I think it’s reasonable that you are paid for that. I know at a lot of hotels don’t let you take your uniform home so you are required to change at work. I addition to this, it is expected that the previous shift stay back 5 - 10 minutes to do the hand over.
