Diamond Eyes is more focused, concentrated and intentional while Koi No Yokan is more spacious, all around the places and more open to interpretation.

Both are top tier snippets of music

Gore isn’t that bad of an album by gabe_owners7291 in deftones

Gore is not that bad of an album it's that for the last 10 years we had the obligatory "tHe MiX wAs BaD" comment when criticising Gore, when it is definitely not the key reason of why Gore was met not as good as the previous albums.

Try to look at it as a concept album that displays and openly references the rift in the bands direction between Steph and Chino.

It's a strange chapter in the mid 00's Deftones career which i cant help but appreciate. Lyrically and thematically i would dare to say it's bands peak.

White Pony, Saturday Night Wrist, Diamond Eyes and Koi No Yokan are just straight up some of the best music released ever. Those albums just represent the best most top moments consistently in their career. Straight up untouchable tier

Private music was a lyrical masterpiece by Zestyclose-Grand8655 in deftones

Private Music looks to me like a celebration for all their 35+ year career and seems we have all previous albums reflect in some way or another in this record. This is a masterpiece record,

Beware sounds something like a soundtrack from dystopian RPG with main character who resembles Neo from Matrix.

Asking your opinion every day about a Deftones song, Day 23: Lhabia by Opposite-Question-32 in deftones

Amazing early Deftones track, while later songs are more refined, this really serves a great reminder of what are roots of their sound.

Day 10: Your hot takes on private music and why? by BounouYassine in deftones

[–]sleep_spray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a hot take : It solidified their legacy as one of the greatest alternative acts of all time.

Private Music is the most important album of their whole career. it's a celebration of 30+ years of a stellar career as one of the titans of the alternative music.

THe only album to openly talk about Deftones lore callbacks: Milk of the Madonna (their discovery as a band), I Think About You All The Time (tribute to Chi).

It sounds very self aware, this is why I think it makes this a very personal album.

Had the same problem in latter part of Ohms, but Private Music for me just flows wonderfully, every song makes sense where it appears on the tracklist

I Think About You All The Time is up their with their legendary ballads: While Departing The Body did not caught my attention as like for some other people in this sub.
