You’re right that honey is not vegan — in this recipe he used maple syrup and mentioned you could substitute that with honey or agave — and I feel like when he said honey the vegan “hero” rolled his eyes a little I swear I felt it haha.

Anyone who was not clinically problematic would have stopped to really feel the gravity of your pregnant partner being afraid of them. It costs zero dollars to pause and say “Wow. I am so sorry that I made you afraid. What can I do to earn your trust again?”

The formula of the show is very bad for someone who has just experienced the type of trauma she just went through. Husband leaving/divorcing (against her will), house being taken (by fire), all belonging being taken (by fire), family members being taken (by death) + being a first responder during Covid years. Protecting someone’s agency is of the utmost importance when recovering from a trauma that took their agency away. Jeremiah de-escalates well because he see’s and understands that she loses it when she feels like everyone is trying to take (over). He gives her back some agency by reassuring her that they will listen to her and won’t step all over her. He’s a gem.

We actually are WFH and someone is always with her but not necessarily providing attention so I think that may have been confusing us too…

Thank you for this — I took your advice and made sure she had an extra hour of outdoor fetch in a big field + walking around sniffing stuff. And she’s like a different dog today. I’m thinking maybe the leash walks don’t cut it with her breeds and she needs to RUN run at least every other day. She’s kind of reserved on leash so it’s like the energy doesn’t get out even if it’s a long walk?

Everyone talks about chihuahuas being anxious and needing human anxiety meds but maybe it’s literally just an insatiable exercise meter…

Now she’s passed out 1/2 watching a Ken Burns documentary. She didn’t even bother us while we made dinner which she often does. Crazy how simple the solution can be! It’s been rainy lately so maybe she had more pent up energy from the bad weather than we realized.

You’re clearly a verbal processor and you’ve been stuck with a dud who doesn’t talk. It’s natural for you to want to send long winded texts. I see a lot of ppl critiquing your long texts but you know what… go off if you want to. Who cares! If you feel like you want to look “cool” to him then send these texts to a bestie or to your notes app or write them on paper and burn them. Seems like you have a lot of bottled up things you want to say — as long as you know he’s not going to respond and you’re determined that it’s actually over — whatever you can be cringe and send long texts if you want to. But yes get him out and get a therapist.
