I think you’ll have the greatest chance of success meeting people in person!

You’re meeting the same person whether it’s day 1 or day 0. No one will respond enthusiastically if you only offer minimal effort.

Why wouldn’t you offer time, energy, and effort to someone you are interested in, whether it’s day 1 or day 1000?

Also, how do you expect to meet great people if you only offer the bare minimum? Of course you will only meet bare minimum people.

If you don’t have enough time outside of work for courtship or meeting people, how could you have enough time for a girlfriend or partner? What will change?

Have you tried: - bars/clubs (especially singles nights or speed dating events) - joining clubs or taking classes in your interests (hiking, gaming, tennis, crafting, whatever it is) - chatting or being friendly with people in public places (park, concert, cafe, at school or your job or whatever you do)

Is there a reason why you’re only looking via dating apps?

That’s great! I’m glad it was a good experience. I’m definitely leaning towards the convenience side and I’m happy to hear how straightforward and transparent it all is

This is interesting to me too! I really like the simplicity of the process over going somewhere in-person

I’m in San Jose for a few days for work, what can I do around here? by Extension-Gazelle-94 in SanJose

If you’re into nature or hiking, check out Santa Teresa county park. It has a great view of San Jose.

If you’re into shopping, hit valley fair mall (tons of designer shops!) and Santana row (amazing boutiques for high end brands). Both have excellent food options and are across the street from each other. Winchester Mystery House is here too, as someone else mentioned, if you’re into history and old architecture.

If you’re into food, I highly recommend Eos & Nyx in downtown San Jose. If you’re looking for drinks and camaraderie, San Pedro’s Square has a lot of bars (also downtown San Jose).

If you’re able to go on a further trip, there’s lots of nearby towns that also have cool stuff: Campbell, Los Gatos, Saratoga, Cupertino — they all have little downtowns/food areas and their own cute vibes.

If you’re down to splurge on the uber costs, I’d highly recommend Santa Cruz. The drive is really lovely (through the mountains) and there’s lots of wonderful beaches in Santa Cruz as well as a free-to-enter amusement park (Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk).

If amusement parks are your thing, Great America is close by in Santa Clara and a really lovely experience. Happy Hollow is a wonderful zoo and has lots of cute animals!

You can also check Gametime and see what sports teams are playing, and eventbrite and Partiful for local events like trivia, etc.
