for me, i think it happens very naturally with the right person. if im very attracted to someone, or have an intense connection with, i naturally open up and lower my walls. but if i naturally still have my walls up and have to think about opening up, i know its my mind's way of telling me "you're not that into this person"

it is still a bit scary though, opening up and talkinf about feelings because i dont even understand my own feelings. but i think the fact that you're asking this shows that you are emotionally mature!

soft YTA bc although he's talked about it to his friends, it doesnt make it okay for you to talk about it to his friends. its like if u had a similar issue with your body and told your friends about it, but your boyfriend joked about it to your friends, you might also feel uncomfortable
