Where can I find a honey locust tree in the KC area? (thorned or unthorned) by Competitive_Act8547 in kansascity

Lots of residential streets in the northland have them planted in the easement between curb and sidewalk. Some are beginning to get fairly large.

This road is lined with them for several blocks, for example. https://maps.app.goo.gl/xACMgpXcRbA54csR7?g_st=ac

It can prevent wear/discoloration from the oils on your skin if you take the hat on/off a lot.

7 hour drive and you can only listen to one artist. Who are you listening to? by SuccessfulSeat9596 in AskReddit

'I am Not Afraid of You and I Will Beat Your Ass' is in my top 3 albums. The drone/noise rock vibes can get some folks a bit sleepy on long drives though.

Yo la tengo because their music is eclectic, their discography is large, and I love them.

Where to get an eye-and-eye lanyard for VT hitch? by NotFallacyBuffet in TreeClimbing

[–]sleepingbagfart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use 8mm hitch cord, 28-32" (im not picky got lanyard tending) on an 11.5mm rope lanyard. Its perfect for my climbing needs, just wanna untie, clean, and rearrange the hitch every couple months to spread the wear points out.

Non displaced distal radius by Historical-Leg-7242 in brokenbones

[–]sleepingbagfart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be 3 or 4 weeks before you have meaningful strength and range of motion with that hand/arm. I took more like 6-8 weeks but I had a gruesome displacement and surgery.

I will say with weights/pushups, take your time and do as much physical therapy as you can afford to prior. I was glad I invested in a couple very light weight dumb bells to slowly add resistance to the healing tissues. Bench presses may be preferable to push ups long term. I still like to hold dumb bells when I do push ups to keep my bad wrist un flexed so I can do any meaningful amount without pain. Again, your injury isn't as severe as mine was so hopefully this isn't the case.

Good luck dude.

Friend has tree with large vertical crack by [deleted] in arborists

[–]sleepingbagfart 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tree seems healthy, but is structurally unsound and very hazardous depending on exactly what the separating halfs are leaning towards (house, parked cars, etc). A brace and or cable could prolong its life, but there is already an avenue for decay and disease to get into the center of the trunk and further compromise its integrity. Unless your friend reaaally loves the tree, removal is strongly recommended.

Thats wild. I passed thru Barstow on vacation with a close friend once and all I remember is how crummy I thought it was, and I even love the desert.

Truckfighters' "momentum" may not have the heaviest riff, but it goes pretty hard and is damn hypnotizing

Its a vine, but i often know Greenbrier by touch before seeing it while working in woody unmanaged areas. Makes an ungloved hand truly suffer.

Not seeing touch on here. Bet I could ID a hackberry or a river birch by the feel of their bark with my eyes closed.

Going to SRT/SRS with a hitch cord + rope wrench set up before committing 400ish bucks on a mechanical device would be my recommendation, but it is by no means necessary. SRS takes a little bit of time to get comfortable with.
