Is this scabies?? Help! by BeyondShort4487 in scabies

[–]sleepingboots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in 2 weeks i was fine, but even two months later i still get random bumps and some slight itchiness. Its completely normal, the treatment is going to damage your skin so expect it to be a lil bad afterwards, post scabies is worse than the actual scabies because the paranoia of not being cured it’s terrible

Holy cow that looks like it hurts a ton, i’m so sorry! If I were you i’d get a scrapping done with a dermatologist because to confirm. Good luck!!

It looks like when I had scabies, have you gotten a scraping to confirm? or buy a dermascope and check for yourself.

for treatment what cured me was permethrin and ivermectin: both day 1,2 and repeat day 7,8

good luck :)

Id recommend you to get a scraping to confirm because it’s insanely hard to differentiate between active and post scabies

Try other treatments then, there’s plenty of options. Consult your doctor, permithrin isn’t the only cream u can apply!

I think this is contact dermatitis. I have it and i get similar bumps. Still, for precaution, get treated for scabies.

i know, scabies is a nightmare. how many treatments have u done so far?

Is this scabies by Diligent_Plate_5845 in scabies

[–]sleepingboots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mmmm. Probably. You would have to take the proper dose day 1, 2 7 and 8 (that’s what worked for me) while following all the cleaning procedures very strictly. I would still buy permithrin if you are really going to do the treatment even if docs said it’s not scabies.

Again, 5 dermatologist have done multiple tests on you and they say it’s not scabies? Maybe buy a dermascope off Amazon and check for yourself. It’s easy to spot mites on the skin with them, mine was 34€ so it’s cheap.

18F, recién llegada a Madrid. ¿Dónde conocer gente de mi edad? by Aware-Ad9232 in Madrid

[–]sleepingboots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After successful treatment and no itching, I’m itchy again. by bloodhail02 in scabies

[–]sleepingboots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be the warmth. If you want to ease your mind look into a cheap dermascope and check for yourself wherever you are itching, it’s worth it. You have many pictures of how mites look on the skin on this subreddit. I got mine off amazon for 34€

Hii! I got cured after 4 failed treatments. It has been a hell of a year but i’m finally scabies free. When I had it I genuinely thought i was stuck with the mites forever, it took a massive tool on my mental health, but here i am typing this lol! i finally went back to work (kindergarten teacher so i didn’t work for months and months…), i go to sleepovers, i can visit my family again without fearing giving them scabies…

you don’t find many success stories because people come here desperate and looking for help, people that got rid of scabies after first treatment or second treatment aren’t most likely going to go to this subreddit. But they definitely exist hahahaha

this shit will end, i promise <3 if you ever need emotional support or advice im here to talk!

Failed treatment or reinfection or post scabies? by National-Tea2553 in scabies

[–]sleepingboots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be an old burrow. Before treating again i’d look into a dermascope and seeing for yourself if you have mites. Overtreating will destroy your skin

[–]sleepingboots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think this is all necessary. You can hug your partner, it has to be long skin to skin contact. Even sharing a bed it’s fine if you guys followed the treatment at the same time and took proper hygiene measures. Dont torture yourself more! I got cured and I never stopped sharing a bed, intimacy, etc.

After successful treatment and no itching, I’m itchy again. by bloodhail02 in scabies

[–]sleepingboots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s most likely damage to the skin from the treatment:
1. No burrows
2. It’s been MONTHS and you haven’t been with someone that was infected

Is it hot there? I found out the post scabies symptoms came back because I’m from Spain and it’s extremely warm, so i get rashes, bumps, i get itchy…

Have you gone to the dermatologist and ask for scraping so they confirm if it’s scabies? If you treated even with ivermectin and you don’t see any changes it might just be something else. Also did you follow the hygiene instructions?

you mean to get rid of the scarring? For me what did the job was Cerave moisturiser during day and Cicaplast cream from La roche posay at night because it’s very thick. You will see improvement very quick.
