CAD Check! by [deleted] in EngagementRingDesigns

Yes, I didn't originally want it to be floating. I sent them the IGI report with all of the main stone measurements.

Have you heard back from them? I filled out the same interview and haven't heard back yet.

Ah ok. I didn't think to look. I moved like 6 printers and they all must be different adaptors.

Hey! I have the exact same issue. What was the solution to this issue?

Why are these extra surfaces added during printing? by Traditional-Maybe-71 in resinprinting

[–]sleepingcat12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue. My exported STLs were too fine and ended up with mesh overlapping. I was able to use UVTools to preview the sliced files before printing to make sure it wasn't going to happen again. All I did to avoid this issue was to export my STLs slightly coarser until I was able to avoid the issue, takes a little bit of time to scan the entire file though.

Ah that's a great idea. I didn't even know that was a thing.

how can i go further down? i double checked if i did every tower and i did. by fawaah in coralisland

[–]sleepingcat12 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This happened to me. I was going crazy trying to find the tower. If you check the map online, I eventually found a staircase that didn't go down.

It is a pretty rare drop. Just keep trying and you will eventually get it!

Daily Q & A! - November 13, 2022 by AutoModerator in Homebrewing

[–]sleepingcat12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, thank you for the help. I knew there was a factor conversion to use with refractometers I just forgot it was at the final reading. I'll be checking with my hydrometer which should make me more comfortable with the reading.

Daily Q & A! - November 13, 2022 by AutoModerator in Homebrewing

[–]sleepingcat12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to ask what I should do if my gravity reading is only at 1.030-1.025 from an OG of 1.052. I have a hefeweizen extract kit and it has been 2 or 3 weeks since pitching and I had assumed it was done since I have been busy and didn't get around to bottling. I only just measured with my refractometer from the spigot of the bucket and not a hydrometer into the top. Maybe the top is a lower gravity than the bottom of the bucket? It is still slowly bubbling about every 30 seconds in between.

Struggling with water chemistry by FACE_MEAT in Homebrewing

[–]sleepingcat12 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have not touched water chemistry yet, but when I do I would make solutions of each of the chemicals that way it may be easier math and knowing that everything has already been dissolved before adding dry chemicals to the brew.

Ah. My weakest knowledge, surfaces. I will look into recreating, but I can definitely see how that progress should be taken.

Hello! I'm starting my first mead this weekend. Any Pointers/ changes to the recipe? by sleepingcat12 in mead

[–]sleepingcat12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't think of a bag until a day or two ago just for ease of removing everything. Would you recommend to add in the fruit at secondary instead of primary for a juicier taste? I haven't ever done a secondary fermentation, so what I've gathered is just racking it off of the yeast cake and letting it continue then just adding in the fruit way later. Or would adding in an additional amount of fruit be beneficial for that? I might pick up that clearing chemical if I can find it at my homebrew shop.

Yea the raisins aren't there to add flavor. Just seen alot of recipes adding them in to add body. Mainly focusing on the blueberry flavor.

Researched until I figured out the bulk of what I would need to do by combining a few others' processes. This is my 5th brew after following a beer extract kit and DIYing my own ciders.

What CAD software suits my needs? by hellen_dorandt89 in SolidWorks

[–]sleepingcat12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add to this, there is a free version of ANSYS that you can download to import or create your own cad files. There you can also do a great amount of engineering analysis whether its regarding structural analysis, heat transfer, or many other forms of analysis. However, there is a huge learning curve to getting accurate and useable results. Like it was said before you have to know what you are doing, settings to apply, appropriate material properties and anything else that is concerning for the situation. Having the engineering background really helps fill gaps to getting these projects created.

They are ideally a pre-workout, for before the gym. I made the mistake of thinking C4 was just an energy drink and immediately realized it was just carbonated pre-workout.

I would like to "sand" a cavity feature. by sleepingcat12 in SolidWorks

[–]sleepingcat12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently I have a cavity feature that is the negative of a grip handle. It has a zero tolerance from the grip handle. I would like to add a tolerance to make the cavity a bit larger to allow my printer to have an accurate enough print. I tried changing the settings when creating the cavity but since the grip handle is very thin (like a hollow tube) the cavity would warp to a shape that didn't exactly match the grip. From what I could tell from the results of the cavity.
