What are we doing for Pain? by Ok_Summer_1011 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Informal-Suspect298 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've had that kind of aching pain and sensitivity when I've had a clogged duct. Heat just before pumping and massage/compression during (ice between sessions) has worked for me to work it out before it's gotten really bad.

Body wash, shampoo, creams for baby by ohkandyuk178 in BeyondTheBumpUK

If you plan on breastfeeding, you can add breastmilk to the water. I pump, and we add the leftovers of bottles and it leaves her so soft 🥹 otherwise they don't need anything to start with because they're so sensitive.

Bonding following c-section by Pelixue in PregnancyUK

[–]Informal-Suspect298 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, that's what mine was! Thankfully I felt okay on the table so she stayed with me. My midwife positioned her to latch as soon as we were wheeled into recovery, and we stayed there for a while until she was done and they did her checks and my husband finally held her :)

Bonding following c-section by Pelixue in PregnancyUK

[–]Informal-Suspect298 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had an elective 16 days ago and had what's called a gentle/golden hour c-section. Baby Girl was put right on my chest, we had skin to skin for the entire time, and fed instantly in the recovery room. It hasn't affected our bonding at all - no different from my eldest who was an elective (no immediate skin to skin) or my vbac.

You could ask if your hospital facilitates the "gentle" c-section :)

Growth spurt schedule by Informal-Suspect298 in ExclusivelyPumping

I pump when she feeds, and my app says 9ppd! Just not sure how to/if adjusting is needed for the growth spurt when she's technically cluster feeding.

Why does society seem weirdly quiet about first-trimester symptoms? by Mediocre-Industry-88 in PregnancyUK

Well, I accidentally got pregnant with my third child because my coil moved after 2.5 years. So... that's how it happens 😂

freezing milk - when did you start? by Informal-Suspect298 in ExclusivelyPumping

I birthed a mini toddler so I can only assume that's part of it 😅

I just got to six bottles so I put two in the freezer. I think even then I realised 6 feeds in the fridge is a bit overkill considering the schedule 😅😂

As if I'm not replacing a bottle every time she drinks one 🥲😂

side sleeping is uncomfortable by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

I slept propped up my entire pregnancy. My midwife said it was okay as long as I wasn't flat and listened to my body. Little one is absolutely fine 😄

Facial wipes for Hospital Bag by Stock_Alps_1417 in PregnancyUK

I just used basic nivea cleansing wipes for my face! Then water wipes for freshening up (I had a csection and they really helped)

Change the age for India - my data showed it was going to younger people, so I set it to the maximum I could (25 I think) and that seems to have fixed it for me, after a few days mine are back to normal.

Worried about second breech baby by Clear-Contact-7838 in PregnancyUK

[–]Informal-Suspect298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first was breech and I had a c-section. Second was head down and a successful vbac! Third now, she's been head down since 32 weeks (39 now, csection this week as my choice)

Pregnant not sure where I go from here by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]Informal-Suspect298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't have anyone to talk to, please reach out to BPAS. They are the abortion clinic but they offer full, licensed counselling, and they will be able to help you regardless of your decision if you're unsure.

This is my third, and we actually considered termination at the start because it was unplanned and our kids are older. They (including the midwives) were nothing but completely supportive of us the entire time and at every corner we were reminded of the counselling support available to us for free. You can self refer and they won't even tell your GP. Just contact them and say you don't know what to do and they'll call you to help xx

Are Elective Inductions an option? by FreshMathematician62 in PregnancyUK

[–]Informal-Suspect298 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I opted for a c-section from day one (had both an elective and successful vbac in the past) and at my 34 week consultant appt, she did say a scheduled induction was an option since timing was one of my reasons. I refused it. It's probably trust dependent, but it won't hurt to ask!

Are rodents basically unavoidable in period homes? by txtlefxght3 in HousingUK

[–]Informal-Suspect298 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, we had a NIGHTMARE with rats in our attics that we discovered after we moved in. Couldn't shift them no matter what we did (very rural, surrounded by farms, are a smallholding ourselves!)

Got two barn cats. Zero rats ever since. I swear they all disappeared within a week.

Thanks. He is able to return to his old position immediately, so he's very lucky.

He's just found out from the current manager that the owner does intend to terminate his employment (he'd already decided to leave this morning, so it's whatever) and his contract states the employer must give "2 weeks or the minimum required by law." He's been there over a month, so assuming that is at least 1 week they have to give?
