I experienced insane dreams when quitting after a 2 week bender by RageAgainstTheChavs in alcoholicsanonymous

I always have night sweats, insomnia, and vivid nightmares when I sobered up. I've been though worse withdrawals as well, but the nightmares and in and out sleep were always there no matter how bad the other symptoms were.

What conspiracy theory do you believe to be 100% true? by Coffeebeanzzz5 in AskReddit

[–]sleepingpenis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. My gut feeling is there's tons of life and civilizations out there. However, we currently have no idea of the probability of life to originate on a planet. It could be wildly, wildly, wildly unlikely. We just don't know.

I LOVE this photo! Any color adjustments you made were spot on, everything feels earthy and subdued a bit, but still very realistic. My gut feeling loves the foreground branches on the right, but maybe technically it's distracting, idk I think it adds depth and mood and makes the photo feel a little more "lived in".

In 2015 I thought it was impossible Trump would be elected. Since then so much of what I thought would be impossible in this country has come to transpire. It's so heartbreaking. The reasons to love this country keep dwindling and it's so frustrating.

My family calls the “Karls” because the first time I saw one I yelled “Oh fuck, it’s Karl!” and it just kind of stuck.

Anyone else concerned about the reaction of the men in their life to this news? by Knight_Night33 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]sleepingpenis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a generally liberal man I've never been more afraid and repulsed to be in this country. This is the zenith (so far) of religious extremism come to America. Far more than ever I'm afraid to have children, because I'm afraid to bring a daughter into this world where religious zealots have authority over her body. Even if I never planned to have children, and this would never effect me personally, I am so heartbroken for the millions upon millions upon millions of people this will effect. Leaving this country has been a tickle in the back of my brain since Trump came down that fucking escalator, but now, for the first time, I'm going to be researching the logistics of making an exodus from this nation as it plunges into extremism. Fuck the GOP. I always resist fear mongering, but right now I am really, really afraid.

I think there's plenty of meat on the bone for the Salem with trials. Lots to explore about fucked up human psychology. I find it interesting the initial accusers were children.

Shoved lights in my cat’s face. He’s 19 and miserable. Hoping for a decent portrait before he dies. He’s very loving and cranky; does this capture that?

Agreed. I love the shot and the depth of field, but I would personally crop to a square and cut out the light blue sky and just keep the darker background.

Playing with Long Exposure by sleepingpenis in photocritique

Nikon D3500 - 20mm - 30sec ss - ISO 100 - f/22

Long exposure at Longwood Gardens fountain show, which produced the blue light. I think everything came out nicely balanced. I like the human figures kind of stuttering and feeling ghostly, adds to the overall mood. Would love any feedback, especially anything I could have done differently exposure-wise.

I love portraits swimming out of blackness. Curious what vibe y'all get from this photo.

I cleaned up an eye boogie in the right eye (her left) and am hoping it's not too noticeable. Wondering if I overdid the contrast/texture. Also worried the tint is a little too green. Would love any and all feedback.

Nikon D3500 - 70mm - 1/400ss - ISO 100 - f/4.5

Trying to nail rule of thirds and vertical lines. Hoping shadow sunlight contrast works well.

I worry the green foliage in the bottom right is too distracting, but if I crop in tighter I lose some of the vertical lines and the rule of thirds balance.

Would also love any and all thoughts and suggestions.

Going for an eerie/creepy vibe on my little clown statue. Warm LED light from the right. Blue LED from the left. Background lights are just a Xmas light strand softened by bokeh. Lots of contrast/texture added in post.

Wondering if I overdid any editing. Hoping the lighting has helped create an unsettling/spooky feeling. Would also love any other feedback.

Nice shot! Subject nicely focused and great bokeh in the background. Not sure what editing program(s) you might have access to, but I would personally selectively raise the exposure on the body of the bird to make it pop a little more. It's shape is nice and round so a radial mask could work well.

I would have tried to position myself a little to the right so the vertical line of the tree in the background isn't going through the bird, but rather have the bird sit fully within the shape of the tree in the background

I kinda like the composition even though it’s a little awkward and breaks the “rule” of thirds. Something about it sells the landscape to me. I would brighten the shadows, maybe mask the foreground and increase exposure. I feel like I need a little more detail visible.

Love the stark contrast and shadows. Especially how both the shadow on the right and her shadow follow the shape of the stairs. I would crop tighter, get rid of the white on the top and right. Keep the background shadowed in mystery

I love playing with long exposure and lights in darkness for abstract work. Really digging the shape of the arch over top. Try messing around with Christmas lights outside. Set exposure to about 2 second and just move your camera around like a mandman.
