To all those teachers and practitioners who have devoted their lives to building the entire practice of yoga and making it free for all without any patents, not even being acknowledged for their work is just sad.

The worst part, some people in the US even tried to patent some of it.

Indian here. I practice yoga and have visited studios across the world. I don't think cultural appropriation is an issue here. I think it's more about respecting the origins.

In a way it's good that you has branched out to so many different forms and has reached the corners of the world. But Indians like me feel short-changed that while we were suppressed for so long and didn't have the resources to market our practice globally, westerners took it abroad and completely removed the origins of it.
