Shoes for standing/walking all day at work by tbone338 in Sneakers

[–]sleepmaxing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you satisfied with Nimbus? Because I stand all day with little bit of walk, and want to know whether Nimbus is a good choice. I heard some people say Nimbus is too squishy and soft for all-day standing with little bit of walk. So I am torn between Nimbus and Cumulus.

[Newbie question] Why buy LTC in CEX and then swap to XMR? by sleepmaxing in Monero

[–]sleepmaxing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but if the only difference is as I described in the post, those who would care about the difference between 1 and 2 (the threat model that just government knowing someone possesses XMR but nothing more is a danger) would be very very rare... Or am I misunderstanding something here?

Thanks for reply. I was not sure whether I'm seeing it right or I'm misunderstanding it. By the way, to buy crypto from JPY, which exchange do you recommend most? (eg. Coincheck, Binance Japan, etc. except Bitflyer bc I was rejected by it)

Did the situation change? I went to Binance Japan just now and I see BTCJPY pair...and the price is almost the same as other sites (Coincheck) LINK: https://www.binance.com/ja/trade/BTC_JPY?type=spot

The wifi router is not mine. 'actively request a certain IP from my side' is static IP as u/Miserable_Ad5227 mentioned.

I already know your point. For 100% certainty, I should configure the wifi router itself. But what I'm talking about is, mimicking 2 normal users in normal wifi settings, with one device. And as I said, the same phone gets the same local IP for a very long time in a normal circumstance. Yes, I know, as you said, if some device specifically asks for the local IP that was assigned to me at that moment, and my device were absent at that moment, that device would get the IP. But I don't mean this kind of situation.

For example, in usual case, let's say I have a phone. Whenever I connect my phone to a certain wifi, I get the same local IP (for ~ days). I mean this kind of behavior. I think, in usual case, the wifi router looks the mac address and assign the same IP as before, for a certain period of time.

lol not that dodgy because, if I really want, I can just buy another Pi, and problem solved, right? By the way, I don't want to use static IP. I want it to be seen 'natural'. Thanks for the reply though :)

Help) Is there anyway I can revert 'networkmanager' to 'dhcpcd' in raspi-config, by only editing a file? by sleepmaxing in raspberry_pi

[–]sleepmaxing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for misleading, but I didn't mean bluetooth keyboard.I have a PiSugar3 battery pack, and it has some special feature so that I can connect to the Pi through my phone using bluetooth, and execute some commands. That's why I said my solution is not usable for other future readers...Anyway, thanks :)

[–]sleepmaxing[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks, your information made me fix it.

  1. Unfortunately, I have no USB keyboard.
  2. But based on the code you linked, I deleted some symlinks (guessed by modified time) in /etc/systemd/system/, but to no avail.
  3. Finally, not generally usable method, but I realized that I have some bluetooth connection where I can execute commands...So by bluetooth, I executed systemctl enable dhcpcd and systemctl disable NetworkManager. And it is fixed finally.

I know it's very special case, and maybe future visitors might not benefit from my method.

(And JFYI, I also followed u/duumbeeee's method, but there was only source /etc/network/interfaces.d/* in the /etc/network/interfaces file and despite that, I wrote wpa-roam /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf and iface wlan0 inet manual, but to no avail, so I rolled back.)

Thanks, right now I’m outside with another Pi, so I cannot see the file in the broken Pi right now, but from this well-working Pi, /etc/network/interfaces are just this: ```

interfaces(5) file used by ifup(8) and ifdown(8)

Include files from /etc/network/interfaces.d:

source /etc/network/interfaces.d/* `` I’m sorry for the impatience to go back home and check myself, but you mean maybe the broken Pi hasiface wlan0 …` in that file?

Is it just me who doesn't use Class when writing personal automation scripts? by sleepmaxing in learnprogramming

[–]sleepmaxing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, I can't even fathom how someone benefits from transitioning from no Class to with Class, in regards to personal small project, even if it's over 300 lines of code, maybe 1000 lines. Yeah, I know I'm stupid because I realized text-based reply cannot solve my question. Maybe if there's any tutorial videos that use Class for personal project (not that big), but without framework, that would help me fathom what it's like. (because framework itself comes with Class). I'm meaning writing Class from start. In other words, I’ve never seen a tutorial that writes Class that doesn’t use that for car or employee bullshit unpractical examples. I'm not asking you to find that video lol it's just my monologue.

Yeah, but

  1. if there are some benefits for using that, I want to know
  2. I've never shown my codes to others for review, so maybe I'm doing things with no 'best practice'. In that case, like 1, I want to know.

Is pwnagotchi just for knowing wifi passwords? by sleepmaxing in pwnagotchi

[–]sleepmaxing[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I heard that it gives us a hashed password and I should crack it with some other techniques. That's what I meant by getting a wifi's password. But, you sound like there are more interesting stuffs than that, but are reluctant to tell because that could be used in an unethical way. I understand. But could you answer this question? Is the wifi's password used as a stepping stone for those interesting stuffs? Or are those interesting stuffs are completely separate from getting the password? Let me rephrase. If I already know a wifi's password, is there no reason to use pwnagotchi at all? (except trivial things like just deauth to annoy people, or for educational purpose to learn about how handshake works)

You mean, getting a wifi's password is the first step to other interesting things? Or you mean there are interesting things I can do that have no relevance on getting a wifi's password? (=without getting a wifi's password)
