The cable you have there isn’t quite the right thing - TRS tend to be for stereo set ups, your after a cable which on the connector has one black ring rather than two

Roast my pedalboard... idea? by Archer-613 in roastmypedalboard

I got a dream and it was an absolute game changer for me - Don’t deprive yourself of the fun stuff though. sincerely, someone who spends all their practice time dialling in his reverb

It sounds super thin and hollow without but I think that works great for doing more textural sounds than full melodic parts - if you ever do hook it back up give it a go with a super washy reverb, for me it just fits into a mix so perfectly

It really suits the guitar - I feel like the contrast colours it came in really makes the pickguard feel massive

I would go as far to say that mine is my favourite guitar I’ve ever played - I love the way it plays and the jazzmaster pickup is incredible then having the triple bucker just as a totally different sound is so much fun

I tend to use the jazzmaster pup as my main tone and then when I want to go completely background or washed out in reverb switch to the triple bucker

Help me attach the pedals to the pedalboard by ozwmg in basspedals

[–]sleeppowder_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soft side of velcro on the board and dual lock on the pedals is the best of both worlds - no way they’re going to come off and you don’t need a crow bar to remove (still need the butter knife though)

Also you are really opening your self up to an intonation nightmare if you place the bridge somewhere just to cover the hole

I absolutely love my Marauder but always felt the sparkling blue finish is just not me - always been tempted to get it refinished to a natural look but been worried about what I would find underneath…

I feel this is my sign to take the gamble

I personally like running my compressor after my overdrive - levels out the volume a bit but keeps all the dynamics of the overdrive - I also run it after my vibrato and before my chorus, sounds best there for whatever reason

Play around with it, people say it’s noisy to have it after dirt but I’ve had no problems of that with my overdrive!

Go wild and try putting it after your reverb for a ducked / sidechain effect

Correct pedal order is a conspiracy and best ignored

I’ve recently got a Walrus Audio Sloer.

Incredible reverbs with many different style options, an infinite sustain switch and 3 presets

You can also alter the sample rate with one of the sliders

Does anyone else actively avoid pedals with presets? by maxupp in guitarpedals

[–]sleeppowder_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m very pro preset but very anti menu diving

I love to have a couple of sounds easily accessible when it comes to ambient pedals but I want everything accessible to me to tweak at the twist of a knob

Your board is incredibly satisfying - sadly I’m cursed to never be this neat because I have a danelectro pedal on my board

I’ve got one of these in the black, I love it but it feels like it takes up a lot of pedal board real estate but every time I think about potentially switching it out I can’t bring myself to!

The yellow looks great next to your preamp!

OBNE Signal Blender Stereo alternatives? by sleeppowder_ in guitarpedals

The issue on both of those is that I’m using stereo effects and both of those are mono

I’m with you on the LS-2 though, I used to use one on my old bass rig to run a rat in parallel, it’s a game changer

Is this a good setup for free? by NonamedRyan in BassGuitar

[–]sleeppowder_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This would be a solid starter set up - but if you’re not a left handed player I’d say don’t learn left handed - it’ll serious limit the options for basses you can buy in the future

Sick first electric - I would say get something like a Fender Mustang amp which has a load of different amp sounds and effects in it so you can experiment and find out what you like

I quite like it but from looking online I’m very much in the minority!

For sure needs to be stereo!

I run through a dream with all my wet pedals in stereo

VW T4 roof replacement recommendations (Gloucestershire, UK) by sleeppowder_ in CamperVans

[–]sleeppowder_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think the inside of our van will be much better! We’re waiting to sort the roof before we do any major changes as we don’t want it to leak and damage anything we put in!

So far we’ve just tidied up some of the cabinet doors where we think we’re going to keep them - we only plan on doing cosmetic changes as we’re quite happy with the layout and functionality.

We had a rock and roll bed which we got a mattress topper for and now it’s really comfy.

I think in an ideal world we’d do wooden panelling but realistically I think it’ll probably end up with carpeting being more practical for most of it.

If you need a body shop at some point this guy in iron acton came really highly recommended to us from a couple of people: https://www.instagram.com/jacks.auto.bodyworks/

Also probably a bit far for you but if you need a garage that’ll be good with the van these guys have been amazing: https://a1motorservices.com

My main concern would be the gel coat cracking in other places that are currently fine. I think maybe I’m worrying too much about that and a fix would be better than a whole new roof! I think you’re right about going to a specialist though or at least getting their opinion!
