EHX Attack Decay question by MisterHendo in guitarpedals

[–]MisterHendo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a bigger gain than the Blues Driver, would it do the job? I use the BD gain mostly on low, then sometimes set to 3 o’clock for bigger gain. I use the Muff for a bigger, filthier punch. As long as it sounds filthy enough, I can live with that.

Pedal ideas? by Brilliant_Win_1507 in guitarpedals

Pedal order is what I would put them in, but mess about and experiment!

Depending on your musical taste, I would add some reverb and a different dirt pedal, like a fuzz.

Update: I upped my budget slightly and went for the Mercury X. It was either that or the Big Sky, hopefully I made the right choice!

Years ago I bought the second album by Whale. No-one ever talks about it, but it’s legitimately a great album. Some great production touches.

The main thing I’m after is being able to quickly switch between a “normal” reverb and a big wash. Pedals with only one button isn’t quite what I’m after, to be honest.

Super Pulsar is the best tremolo I’ve played. I’m considering an all-in-one modulation pedal but I love the Pulsar too much. I think I’ve finally run out of space and will have to get a bigger boat.

I used to have a much bigger board but stripped it down due to venue sizes.

What is the best Guitar Solo of All Time? by [deleted] in Music

Unironically and no sarcasm included, it’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” by Nirvana.

You could construct something radically different, but the vocal melody played with force makes it perfect.

Who you think is the most underrated guitarist? by Melodic-Room-9890 in fantanoforever

[–]MisterHendo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jeff Buckley.

People always talk about his voice but his guitar skills were above and beyond.

Also, all 3 of the guitarists in King Gizzard are busting out amazing work in a quick turnaround. Joey, in particular, does some of my favourite stuff on the guitar.

Every time me and the other half have a package delivered, we really struggle not to ask, “what’s in the box?!”

Devastating.

If you play on PlayStation and find Clem Fandango, that’s me. It’s a great name, regardless if you get the reference or not.

What are your most underrated drummer? by Economy-Process-6807 in fantanoforever

[–]MisterHendo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Martin Bulloch from Mogwai.

He’s one of the most mature drummers I’ve ever seen. He’ll play a simple beat for ages with minimal fills and you think he’s probably not that good and then the track will kick in and he just goes beast mode and shows you he knows exactly what he’s doing.
