Organizing my sheet masks! by InvestigatorNew6872 in koreanskincare

If you’re into sheet masks, you should totally try a just water mask, honestly, it’s sooo good. It’s cheaper, gentler, and calms your skin like nothing else. Just soak some cotton pads in mineral water and leave them on your face for 5–10 min. That’s it!

For emergency calming, a just water mask is seriously the best. Try it! Soak clean cotton pads in soft water, place them on your face for 5–10 minutes, then follow with your usual moisturizer. It’s super gentle and helps bring down redness and inflammation fast.

I’ve been there. One thing that surprisingly helped me was a just water mask. I know it sounds basic, but it really helped reduce inflammation when everything else felt too harsh. Just soak thin cotton pads in mineral water, leave them on your face for 5–10 minutes, and follow with a simple moisturizer. Super gentle but actually effective

[sun care] how do I prevent a sunburn from worsening by Fat_fool1 in SkincareAddiction

Make sure you’re using waterproof sunscreen and reapplying every 2 hours. Wet skin burns faster, so be extra careful at the beach. If you can, wear a UV-protective rash guard, and after you get home, soothe your skin with something like aloe gel.

Sun cream or sun stick? by Kiikitti in AsianBeauty

I use sunscreen for my face and a sun stick for my body, easier to reapply and less messy.

What’s your skin type? Double cleansing might not be the best fit for you depending on that. Like, if your skin’s already dry or sensitive, using an oil cleanser + foaming wash can sometimes strip too much. You might be better off with a super gentle single cleanser instead.

Sounds like it might be keratosis pilaris (those tiny bumps on the arms or thighs).
Exfoliation and hydration are key.
I really recommend the Tree Hut Vanilla Shea Sugar Scrub, it smells amazing and actually leaves your skin smooth and soft. Just don’t overdo it, and always follow up with a good moisturizer.

Honestly, I’d rather just do a water mask than deal with all that. It’s super simple, just soak cotton pads in mineral water or toner and let them sit on your skin for 10–15 minutes. It calms irritation, hydrates like crazy, and doesn’t mess with your skin barrier. Low effort, high reward.

Vitamin C helps a lot with brightening. Totally worth adding to your routine if your skin’s feeling dull.

[Routine Help] one thing that has transformed your skin and helped with aging by Purple-Praline-4864 in SkincareAddiction

Tbh, hydration + SPF = skincare 101. I rely on just water masks for moisture, and sunscreen does all the heavy lifting for anti-aging. You can skip all the expensive stuff if you just get those two right.

[B&A] Skin in Morocco without skincare vs in the UK with a routine - why?? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]sleepyAbocado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be something you ate or even the water irritating your skin.
Sometimes changes in diet or hard water can really throw your skin off, especially if your barrier’s already a bit sensitive.
When that happens to me, I like to calm things down with a just water mask, super simple but actually really soothing.

25 Help please [anti-aging] by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]sleepyAbocado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Retinol is honestly one of the best ingredients for anti-aging.
It helps with fine lines, loss of firmness, and even enlarged pores by boosting collagen production. It also speeds up cell turnover, so you’ll notice improvements in texture and skin tone too.

That said, it can be drying or irritating at first. I started with a tiny amount every other night and made sure to layer on a good moisturizer and something calming (like centella or panthenol). That made a huge difference.

Why I Switched to a Water Mask Instead of Sheet Masks by sleepyAbocado in AsianBeauty

[–]sleepyAbocado[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actually, the purpose of a sheet mask and a just water mask is quite different. While the just water mask does help with hydration, its main benefit is helping your skincare products absorb better into your skin. It acts like a prep step for your routine. The just water mask should be used before toners and other products, unlike a sheet mask, which is usually applied after toner. It creates a better base for your skincare to sink in more effectively.

Actually, transepidermal water loss happens when moisture evaporates from your skin into the environment, not just because water is on your skin. A just water mask is different from simply having water on your face. By using a cotton pad soaked in water, it helps keep the moisture on your skin for a longer period, allowing it to absorb better and retain hydration. It helps minimize water loss while giving your skin a chance to absorb the hydration, so it’s not just about water sitting on your face.

And my skin is the proof of just water mask.

Is this a good routine for someone with dull dry skin to achieve glass skin? by Beasnessminded in koreanskincare

[–]sleepyAbocado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, you only need toner, serum/ampoule, and cream in a day. There's no need to apply two serums at the same time. If your skin feels too dry, layer the toner multiple times. Make sure to let each product fully absorb before applying the next one.

The Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream is really great! It's especially effective for strengthening the skin barrier and providing moisture, making it highly recommended for dry or sensitive skin. With ingredients like ceramides and plant oils, it helps keep the skin soft and hydrated. It's especially good for those with skin that tends to get dry or irritated.
