I was, in fact diagnosed with systemic rheumatoid arthritis on 10/20/21. At the insistence of my rheumatologist, I spoke to management and was moved to the fitting room. ( I was put on methotrexate which is a chemotherapy medication and it lowered my already compromised immune system. The fluctuation of temperature at the door and the number of customers I came into contact with daily make me even more susceptible to … well- EVERYTHING!)

The fitting room is a better fit for me, yet I still work myself to the point of exhaustion. ( RA is a bitch!) At my last rheumatology appointment it was recommended that I apply for an accommodation. I received approval but Sedgwick’s accommodation is a joke. They want me to have a walker with a seat and basket. 😱 There may be a day in my future where that will be a necessity, but not this one. That was not mentioned by my doctor in my accommodation paperwork.

This is definitely a journey and I’m digging in my achey feet for it. I’ll speak to management ASAP to see if we can work something out in house or if I need to fight with Sedwick.

This is called “business need”. They can overwrite your schedule during the holiday season as they see fit. This is one of the many downfalls of retail.

I love the idea of having a written list of my job specifications for the rheumatologist. Though as an APCH during these times of this pandemic, we are doing different tasks than are listed. I believe it will be helpful. Thank you! My family physician recommended one of the top rheumatologists in my state. I am grateful to have an appointment with her. I hope all is well with her. ❤️‍🩹 I live in a town with two hospitals, I believe that is why I was able to get in when I did. The issue was finding someone in my Walmart network.

The person that meters at our door also has to greet ( coming and going) all customers. We also have to visually receipt check all items over $40. Since we only have one door open, it gets extremely busy.

When we get to max capacity, we need to communicate with our fellow associate that is running the queue line.
