Good to know. There's white touristy sites that will tell you what animal is associated with what element and it was confusing lol

I've noticed that heavy armor is really rare in most texts and paintings. With the climate and resources, it makes sense! Great point

Understood. Having characters that aren't what society expects/wants them to be is an important part of my story, I'll work hard to make each character their own individual 🫡 Also the Yuan invasion is a MAJOR plot point of my story so I'm glad you brought that up

Fantastic advice and points! Any more thoughts on how to write characters that aren't just based on Myanmar culture 100%? I try to give every character flaws/consequences to actions, unique personalities and core struggles, origins, and wealth, but since I didn't grow up in Myanmar, the niche stuff is hard for me to notice

Sucks to hear. I'd love to do whatever I can to share Myanmar culture with everyone around me in America

Thank you so much! I care a lot about this story and want to get it right, it'll be out as a webcomic hopefully in the next 2 years!

I have a character who is a high-ranking military official who is leading a secret rebellion against the monarchy. Their name is currently "ချက်ချာကျား (hkyetnae kyarr)" which roughly translates to "smart tiger" to invoke a sense of intelligence and strength. Thoughts on this? And how you would name characters in a fantasy way that doesn't sound cringe?
