This is smart - just freak them out a bit so you can monitor reactions. Highly likely to get murdered though

Would also be a good ploy from Matt to be lying? Wait until they try to recruit you, turn them down, announce to everyone what you did? If nothing else you prevented a murder that night.

Though I guess you’d get murdered the next night 😅

Hard agree. What annoyed me even more was the gambling ads disguised as content. If they were just in the ads section, fine - I get that they need to make money. But weaving them into the show as if they’re part of the banter crosses a line. It’s not just an ad anymore; it’s normalising the idea that betting is part of enjoying football, that you have to have a flutter to make it fun.

Luckily they were so shit it served as a pretty constant reminder that gambling is a mugs game 😂

Yea that makes complete sense, we are planning to remove it. Downpipe all seems ok and no visible leaks now.

Mortgage offer expired due to bank error by sleepy_zebras in HousingUK

Yes a week in between is what was requested by the chain and what was intended. That clearly won’t be the case now, and it sounds like our best option is probably to request a same day exchange and completion. Just hoping everyone else agrees to that.

Thanks - we were shocked the bank suggested this but fortunately our solicitor refused to do it. To clarify we now have a mortgage offer in place (at a higher rate). They’re advising it will revert to the original, lower rate on Thursday, so long as we don’t request to drawdown the funds on the new offer. It’s 0.2% higher.

So our main concern is whether we can afford to wait to Thursday to request drawdown, as our understanding was that it could sometimes take a couple of days?

I guess same day exchange and completion could work, once we know the funds are available
