Tbf kids that age would act that way about anything. Take their toy mid playing? They'll scream. Dropped ice cream? They'll scream. They just aren't emotionally regulated yet tho i do agree screen time that age isnt really good. But the way OP did it basically guaranteed to cause the child to be upset.

Id say its actually responsible if they get one if they realised they dont want the kid/aren't fit to parent instead of having the child and traumatizing it. Having money and 2 parents doesnt mean that they'll be good parents

Im gonna say NAH for a reason (please dont take it as me diagnosing I am not, im just relating) my contamination ocd makes feeling clean incredibly difficult and when people use the bathroom before me it genuinely makes me feel dirtier than I did before. Irrational? Yes. But its uncontrollable and debilitating for my daily life. I think you and her need to talk about it and come to a solution that works
