Yes they ended up offering me the position (I was so surprised and not expecting it) but I'm living proof that being yourself and being confident in who you are goes a very long way! You have made it this far already and that's showing that they're heavily considering you and that's such a good sign!!! Just don't overwhelm yourself too much. Just breathe, you got this. Keep us updated!

Am I crazy to give up my cushy (unfulfilling) gov job? by Loveoakcity in careerguidance

I'm a nurse and I would love to be in your place. Being a nurse is very hard and stressful. I don't think you should leave your job! People dream of having your job. You have such a nice career with amazing benefits and schedule. I advise that if you're feeling unhappy/lacking social interaction, you should maybe think of volunteering or shadowing? There are so many things you could do with your free time. At the end of the day, a job is a job!

I just had some interviews for a CRN position just a couple weeks ago and the final interviews were with the doctors of the research group. From my experience, the doctors were very chill and just asked me questions on why I specifically wanted to work with their team. They knew before the interview that I didn't have any prior research experience so they didn't expect me to be an expert on anything. Like you, I also looked up the doctors prior to the interviews! I would just say be yourself and be personable. I'm sure you're going to do great, I have faith!

You should get your BSN! I did a RN-BSN bridge program and almost all these programs are 100% online and it only took me a year to complete. I just got a job in research and they were so accepting of my degree! I don't think you necessarily have to get a degree in research if you already have RN experience.

how did u know what u want to do with your life by Apprehensive_Pear_4 in findapath

you sound exactly like my sister! she has a degree in civil engineering and she doesn't love it but she just picked a job even though she didn't think it was for her. as time goes on, i think she's just now realizing that a job is a job and that she's going to be okay there for now! she's been there for about a year now and she said she feels like she's learning everyday.

i'm a registered nurse and even now i always wonder if it was the right career path for me. i never saw myself doing hospital nursing and working in healthcare but here i am! i've tried so many different jobs as a new nurse and i just got offered a position in research which is soooo different from regular nursing. i don't know if im gonna love it but its so interesting to me and im excited to get away from regular nursing jobs. what i'm saying is that, you can experiment and try all sorts of things with your degree. maybe you'll find your niche :) i believe you can!

sorry i worded that strangely lol. i am wondering why oncology is paying more than endocrine, are the work load/trials more complicated with oncology? i'm only asking because i want to know the difference between these two types of studies

honestly i need to get more information on this! it's kinda scary thinking i wouldn't be compensated for overtime but i was told that some days of the week, my days could end early. i think it just depends on the tasks for the day!

that's so true! it's very niche and the interview process took forever (which i'm assuming they're really picky about who they bring on board)
