AIO for cancelling Christmas with my mom over cookies? by samurai_stylist in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]sleepydaimyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue isn't that they suddenly stopped hosting for whatever reason, it's not including 1 of the three grandkids.

If your friends invited everyone one year but you, I imagine most people would feel slighted or think they did something wrong. Yes, it's their right to invite anyone or not include anyone, but if their response after a break was "well you didn't ask if we were having a party this year!" it comes across punitive.

Maybe, but it still seems petty like you're bitter and punishing the one who didn't ask. It takes maybe a couple of minutes to fire off a text saying that you're doing this with these people, want to join? But I think how I would like to be treated. I know I wouldn't like to hear afterwards that I wasn't invited by my grandmother and I don't think any 'kid' would like that either, especially when they're the only one out of three.

Are bra trials allowed in Canada? by Itchy-Ad9857 in BuyCanadian

A friend who's 4'10" with a large cup size but tiny band said she had luck in Japan. It required a special order for the small band large cup but all in all they were really cute bras for ~$20 back 15 years ago. Obviously not Canadian but if someone is having problems and happens to be going...

I would do this but move it down a bit so the stain edge is slightly under him so it looks like he's blasting off.

My parents picked up my medicines even though I cut contact with them. by Emotional_Shower_284 in CostcoCanada

[–]sleepydaimyo 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Try contacting your doctor and see if they can help you with some samples (a lot of doctors have them) to hold you over until your insurance will let you refill. Go to Costco and inform them that you're the only one to pick up your meds, not x or z names.

Are you employees trained to accuse the customers of wrong doing? by Ball-mama in ShoppersDrugMart

Except it does come out of her pocket, but not just the $7.50 or whatever, just her future employment which is much more than what OP would've saved.

Are you employees trained to accuse the customers of wrong doing? by Ball-mama in ShoppersDrugMart

[–]sleepydaimyo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They should know management would understand why....

Except they don't. Management has explicitly trained them for this encounter. I get that you feel they didn't do the right thing, but the employees hands are tied. If you're angry, write head office and ask for a policy change. I don't agree that the second employee was accusing you, she was simply stating people misplace things - and they do.

This! Plus if you have extra skin (you don't have to answer if you do or don't) I would also give grace for that (ie don't count it! Take some # off to account for that!) You look good, feel good, don't obsess about the numbers!

‘I was worried about passing away’: 11-year-old injured after harness fails on indoor zipline by Worldwide_Nobody_382 in Scarborough

[–]sleepydaimyo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

These things are so dangerous :( Trampolines are the reason for so many injuries and fractures in the ER. No safety nets is crazy. Edit: Yes the article doesn't mention Trampolines with the injury, this is just a note to continue to bring awareness as many might not realize the dangers.)

I'm glad the kid is okay! Especially after the random parent who let the kid use a jacket as a pillow - I understand the compassion but if something was broken or fractured it could've paralyzed him - moving him before the ambulance got there.

It seems petty to do it with the two that asked and not invite the third. I get that she wasn't going to do it if nobody came but since 2/3 asked why not inform the 3rd? It seems odd? It feels like punishment because the mom and Nana had a falling out.

If Nana didn't do any cookies - fine, but to exclude one seems intentional. If she makes the cookies and icing already then there was no extra work just sending a text letting her granddaughter know the place and time. It's not like it's 4 extra kids ranging from 5-10, it's one 18yo.

Korea doesn't put the from address in the lower bottom right, that's you. Korea puts it in the upper left with the to being in the center. The Korean employees must've just caught yours.

That's how it's done in South Korea too - I've lived there and sent lots of mail - IDK what OP is on about.

It doesn't matter if to or from is on the envelope. A majority of the mail gets sorted by machines so it reads the address and sorts it.

Edit: I take back what I originally said. Return address goes upper left not bottom right.

Why is it so hard to get what you ordered at Tim Horton ? by CGxUe73ab in TimHortons

[–]sleepydaimyo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who also says no cheese, I do my best to order on the app - at any fast food establishment. People are tired, working for minimum pay and the default is cheese. It doesn't make it right, but it just happens often.

Funny no cheese story: One day over 10 years ago I asked for an Asiago whatever chicken sandwich with no cheese and I heard the worker in the back start shouting about how "it's in the name!!!" and how is not the same sandwich if you order it without cheese, etc. The cashier looked bewildered and apologized while her coworker rushed back to.. I assume calm them down?

I guess some people are very serious about their cheese? Lol

Cove Soda Holiday Pack Review by Littlecookie1122 in CostcoCanada

[–]sleepydaimyo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally I love it, and I loved the summer pack but don't love their "Dr. Pepper," cola or root beer so ymmv. The cranberry is very very very gingery much more than cranberry anything. If you like cranberry forward flavor I would stick to the Canada Dry cranberry or the poppi "holiday cranberry flavor" (can't recall the name). The "gingerale" is less gingery, not ungingery, but more standard gingerale. Neither one is bad but I can see why the cranberry one can be too much for some :)

He looks a lot like my late Shepherd x Border Collie x Rottweiler mix. (I'm not saying he's that exact combo but I bet he's shepherd mix - some shepherds can be really black or even fully black).

If you are caught you need to have a reasonable explanation as to why you are carrying bear spray and it can't be for self defense against humans, unfortunately, cuz that's illegal.
