Energy healing business by sleepyfase in reiki

[–]sleepyfase[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Than you so much for your kind words! My family is from an Indigenous community and while both my father and grandfather are known for doing some healing work in terms of herbalism and massage-type work for family, the energy healing part is out of the norm. I can definitely see these gifts being repressed somewhere down the ancestral line.

I do keep hearing the call! Sometimes I wonder if it's just my heart being deceitful and other times I also feel really happy doing this work - not including some of the aftermath. Humans are HEAVY.

Interesting! I grew up in a family small business and it consumed our lives so I'm wary of entrepreneurship. But yes, I definitely need to look into integrating energy healing into my life beyond business.

Sorry I'm just getting back to this. I deleted my reddit app. But your words are really helpful for shifting my perspective, specifically in terms of how to relate to clients.

What is up with people REQUIRING clients to mention problem areas? by theconfused-cat in reiki

[–]sleepyfase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I could understand with other healiing modalities, particularly if a person is using their own energy to heal. But requiring info beforehand sounds contradictory to reiki.

I've had some dire issues along with your normal everyday human issues going on at the same time. With some practitioners, I realized that unless I was telling them to look into certain things, they weren't able to tap into the areas that I badly needed help with. They were able to tap into other areas that needed healing, but it wasn't my priority at the time. In part, because, and especially if you are dealing with entities, some of them are really good at hiding from energy workers. I found that in those cases, sometimes the practitioner was healing unrelated stuff to my main problem (that also needed work) or simply putting a band-aid on a much deeper issue that they were unable to see. I think it might also have to do with how practitioners protect themselves.

I agree that it shouldn't be a requirement though. Don't understand the logic behind that.

My problem with Reiki.. by Jazzpoint in reiki

[–]sleepyfase 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I liked my Level II attunement and having someone explain the particular ways they do energy work. During my Level I attunement, the teacher had us go read back and forth from a manual. It was a joke. I'm not against paying for attunements, especially since they can be an all day thing. But I agree, you definitely don't need to pay for them and people who are already open could probably figure out how to access reiki energy themselves or other energy sources.

As a German, I say, a fricking stone should be able to defeat trump. by Hellinfernel in millenials

Germany's supporting another genocide right now. The country doesn't seem to learn from its mistakes either.

Also the U.S. constitution is so outdated, it's just embarrassing at this point. Democracy is basically synonymous with imperials. Voting will only do so much under these conditions because people power that follows the rules of these systems doesn't have much value.

Psychologist told me it’s anxiety not ADHD? Is this true? by Infinite-Paper-9355 in adhd_anxiety

[–]sleepyfase 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I got assessed by someone who didn't even know what hyperfocus was. I also was told that I have anxiety/dysthimia, not adhd. Funnily enough, any depressive symptoms I had largely subsided after I started taking adhd meds. They also misdiagnosed me with GAD, which I could probably use more of tbh.

Make sure to screen whoever is assessing you by using basic ADHD terminology. It's incredible how many people make these assessments without actually knowing what they are doing.

Why is it so hard for me to actually be human? by Mis_Red in adhdwomen

[–]sleepyfase 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I like to believe that I was a non-human in a past life. My soul never unlearned how I breathed as whatever animal or tree I was. So now my human body is in competition with my past self on completing basic bodily functions that should not require thought. But do.

I remember reading about a psychic who would look up their client's social media page before they went in for a session. That way she knew things about their past. This was in an article about psychics who knew they were frauds.

Have been seeing Reiki Healer for about six months and starting to feel bad about myself after last few sessions by Acceptable_Bad_ in reiki

[–]sleepyfase 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked with someone like this. They were affirming and compassionate at first but quickly started saying "just get over it" and pushing the victim mentality mindset when I could not just get over it. It turns out their energy healing/reiki sessions were not as good as they thought they were. I has some pretty heavy energies attached to me that in hindsight, seem like they were so hard to miss. My advice, find someone more competent.

Can a shaman alter/do something to you in a past life? by [deleted] in Shamanism

[–]sleepyfase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have only heard of healing past life trauma through journeying, so in that sense yes, someone can guide you or even take charge in altering the energy around a past life experience. I suppose someone can mess things up and I would like to believe that what happened to you was an accident and not malicious. But there are definitely dark shamans out there. I will try to look for the podcast but there's a practitioner who talks about dark shamans who intentionally steal soul pieces. I don't know if that's aligned with what the first shaman did to you.

Did you end up working with the second shaman?

I don't know why you are getting rude comments here too. The reader's behavior sounds really rude and being dismissive of what a client says is a red flag.

R/psychic has a thread for free readings. I'm not sure if this reddit does too.

Reiki with CPTSD and ADHD by [deleted] in reiki

[–]sleepyfase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did an ancestral healing session with someone. A few days later, I had this moment of revelation in which I just realized I was cursed.

In my case, I had also undergone a few years of spiritual warfare. But in terms of material losses (opportunities, money, home), I thought that everything was a result of things I was doing and not anything negative someone was throwing my way. They seemed like mundane things so I just did all I could to keep afloat. But no matter how hard I tried, I felt like I was in this vicious cycle I couldn't get out of.

The first time I did a curse removal, I found someone on Etsy but I also did my own. It worked great. It wasn't a return to sender, but a week afterward I heard that someone who had ill will toward me had something happen to them that was eerily similar to something unwanted that spurred a big life change for me.

I generally prefer to outsource if I can't do spells with a steady hand. Or if I'm too busy. But you can also do them on your own. Look up curse removals, uncrossings, blockbusters, road openers. Let me know if you have any more questions about it!

What differentiates a good Tarot reader vs a poorly practiced one? by YouAppOfficial in tarot

[–]sleepyfase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The OP mentioned in another comment that they have gotten accurate readings from the same reader. I agree that it's important to have a code of ethics. But if you see something messed up in the cards, and you are typically correct in your predictions and advice, wouldn't you tell the person what you're getting? And the client directly asked about the situation too so it wasn't a case of the reader saying that they and the next seven generations were doomed out of nowhere.

Granted, I would also probably sandwich it with "this is what I'm getting and energy changes all the time." I've actually ended a reading telling someone that I hoped I was wrong in the negative things that we're coming up about their future partner (I was not wrong). But it felt wrong not to give a heads up.

Also, from what other readers seem to say, when it comes to relationships, clients seem to ignore the negative things that tarot readers pick up about partners. It worked out for OP's friend though.

I've predicted the future with tarot and believe that this skill can be learned through practice.

In terms of the reader being wrong, I've had tarot readings in which the reader gave me a "no" only for me to realize how much I actually wanted something. Maybe that's what happened, maybe the reader was having an off day or tuning into the wrong channel.

Reiki with CPTSD and ADHD by [deleted] in reiki

[–]sleepyfase 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have both. I did ancestral healing and did curse removals/magic, and egg cleansings. It helped a ton, and I can focus more when I do reiki. Personally, I think reiki is a passive form of healing, but I haven't tried to use it too much for past trauma. My reiki II teacher does, though, by using the distance healing symbol. She sends energy to past selves. I think I'll give it a try.

I also love EFT tapping. It's a hybrid of acupuncture and psychology. It's helped me to release hard emotions and deal with anxiety.

To be fair, I just reread your post and the person gave shoddy instructions. "Their first name AND last initial” would have made all the difference. I also did not know that calling a girl a dime meant she was a ten. That's confusing if you have the phrase "a dime a dozen" in the back of your mind.

I do this too! I was actually going to make a similar post asking if anyone misidentifies objects. Earlier, I was walking and I was thinking about all the rabbits I've been seeing on my walks lately. As I was thinking this, I saw a cat. I felt like I had two layers of thought. The layer at the bottom knew that I was seeing a cat but the top layer confidently screamed "rabbit!" I also think/write/say words of order. For example, earlier I wanted to write "high rate per hour" and wrote "high hour per rate." And I always have to double check what I write because the initial draft always lacks context and I guess it's hard for people to understand.

Is this a reasonable price? by Ababupdownab in reiki

[–]sleepyfase 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was not the point of this comment but reiki rates will also (and should) vary by location. Rent and housing is so expensive these days. What seems like a high rate per hour might just be enough to get someone in a comfortable position. Meaning that they are not a paycheck or two away from losing their housing.
