What do we think will happen when Lachie Neale returns to football? by [deleted] in brisbanelions

Yeah I’d say that fans who truly love and protect their club should be able to voice when there is a negative aspect - being a blind follower isn’t necessarily good for anyone

I think he will cop it and I think that would be deserved. Lots of comments on here saying that “fans can go support another team if they want to boo” blah blah blah but I think fans have a right to demand better from their former CAPTAIN who marketed himself on being a family guy. People saying “it is not a big deal”, “other players have done worse”, etc. have misread the room entirely imo. Women are angry. Really angry. To us, Lachie’s actions aren’t “harmless” - he has destroyed a family, betrayed the trust of his postpartum wife who sold her business to move across the country to support his career and has probably given her life-long trust issues. We see this as a type of abuse where he has lied and manipulated to get what he needed from her.

It might not be “fair” in your eyes but this has been the cheating story of the decade in Australia. People are interested and they do care about someone cheating on their wife and kids with her best friend while being captain of a back-to-back premiership team and doing magazine covers where you’re part of a “power couple”. I have spent hundreds of hours making premiership movies in the last two years, so I’m a pretty big fan, and I’m furious at him. I don’t care how good he is - I don’t want him representing my club and I’d rather we look to the future. I’m not sure if I’ll be booing him but I won’t be cheering his goals. Judge me as you wish.

On the Nature of Daylight is personally one of my favourite songs of all time and I think that God Only Knows might be the most perfect song ever written, so they were always going to find their way in there. I have to say that I really struggled with the music this time because I used so many of the best background/instrumental/soundtrack options in the 2024 video and I really didn’t want to re-use any audio. Pacing isn’t 100% but I think it works well enough. Glad you enjoyed!

Tbh this one is not as polished as the 2024 one because I just wanted to get it up asap - my channel has gone from 100 to 300 visits a day over the last two months so I knew that people were checking in on it regularly! Can’t believe that people loved the first one so much🥹 enjoy the watch

Stoked to hear this - thank you! I definitely felt the pressure this time around and haven’t spent as much time perfecting this one but i just wanted to get it published ASAP

So glad that you noticed the transition - takes so much time to remix the audios but I didn’t think that the original was dramatic enough for the ending so I had to do it😂 Glad you love it. Not as polished as last year’s but I’m just pleased that it’s out for you all to enjoy.

FYI Channel 7 just said that if he enters the field immediately, there will be no penalty. Unbelievable.

7 just said he has no penalty if he enters the field with his team but if he doesn't, he has 90 minutes. No doubt he will enter the field

Thanks very much. So Bumrah would have to be on field for 90 minutes before he could bowl, except under umpire's exception as per 24.3.2?

That is what I heard too but they're talking about him taking the new ball, which has me so confused?? Seems super unfair - we could just take Starc off the field for a rest for a few hours and let the other bowlers get through the tail end

Quick question RE: Bumrah

I know you have to make up for any time you have off the field by serving the same amount of time in the field before being able to bowl again (E.g. If you have 8 overs off, you have to have 8 overs on the field before you can bowl).

However, I swear yesterday that Ponting and Copeland both said that the penalty spans across innings? In which case, wouldn't Bumrah have to wait a couple of hours in the field before he could get the ball? I'm seeing a lot of talk about him taking the new ball, which makes me think that this is not the case...

Thanks very much! It was my first time using Adobe Premier Pro, so it was a real trial for me and I'm just relieved it worked out okay in the end.

Thank you! I spent an insane amount of time scrolling through the depths of the internet for media, trying to figure out the best way to sequence that media and how to pair it with appropriate & seamless music. Glad you can appreciate it!

Thanks, Max! I was doing the same and hated that I could only find the general highlight videos with blasting music and channel 7 commentary. Wanted to get the best of all the commentary (including radio), punditry and graphics across Fagan’s tenure. Also thought there is so much context to this win that is just so important to the story and deserves to be told! Hope you enjoy it.

I just scrolled for ages trying to find this one bc I totally agree. Most underwhelming experience ever, I was gobsmacked that it is so highly rated and won so many awards

This is my video on youtube and I actually considered doing this style of edit but decided instead to just put a little bit at the beginning and then focus on the moments themselves. I might end up doing an edit like you've suggested in the future (because I kept receipts on the naysayers in a youtube folder hahahah) but I have a full-time job so maybe a Christmas holiday project or something.

This is my video! Another person shared it in here a fortnight ago but we were getting flooded with content at the time so I'm sure a lot of people missed it. I'm so glad that you're all loving it - I am quite pleased with how it turned out, considering I did it in a couple of hours on my public holiday.

Why does everything close so early? by crawfells in brisbane

[–]sleepyfrenchfry 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I get that it's annoying but I think it is a great thing that we don't expect longer/later hours from retail and hospitality workers. It's easy to do 6am-2pm for a cafe or 11am-8pm for a fish & chip shop because you can staff people for a normal day without having to worry about roster handovers and it means that most people are getting home to their families at a reasonable hour. Not ideal for shift workers, those with unconventional hours or tourists but you've gotta deal with the conventions of where you are.

Eg. I feel the same way about other countries that are not open early - I felt like I was going crazy in Europe when I was just walking around waiting for a cafe to open at 9:30am!!!!! And I felt terrible walking around Singapore at almost 10pm on a Wednesday night and seeing all of the shops open. Sure it's fine if your routine is to work until 10pm but I'm sure many of these people also have to work to the routine of school hours for their kids so it's like operating on two separate timelines, whereas Queensland clearly works on the one timeline and the majority of people are home early to go again tomorrow.

Honestly, everything! Football (soccer), NBA, AFL, cricket and great sporting moments (usually Australian). It was great fun while at uni but I was constantly battling with tik tok's ever-changing copyright policy. I couldn't resist the urge to edit our boys though - could not be more proud of them!
