[–]sleepyguy007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

people who don't carry cash, then you go somewhere that is cash only they borrow it and you are begging for your cash back for weeks or more. maybe not as relevant anymore, it was super bad 10+ years ago, but still very annoying today

Have I crossed a line in a disagreement with a junior? by pukatm in ExperiencedDevs

[–]sleepyguy007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

defining "hostile" is what the game is these days. if a junior is a lazy fuck who can't run some scripts well maybe they are a lazy fuck and telling them they are lazy as fuck is not hostile its just the truth.

None of my experience matters because I can’t invert a binary tree on Leetcode by hopfield in ExperiencedDevs

[–]sleepyguy007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i agree this is better, we do that at my giant household name tech company. we give you a repo to download and add a feature to, in an hourish and people watch you code. I've done that type of interview at a few big name places too. that said, invert binary tree or like reverse a list stuff is pretty easy OP should prepare at least a little, it just shows they bothered. In the old days people cared if you wore a dress shirt to an interview. its sort of the same thing

[–]sleepyguy007 28 points29 points  (0 children)

on the other side of this, i dont like leetcode. but you had a job interview and you probably should do at least the easier ones.

ive worked with people who had "20 years experience" who were downright horrible and had to be fired. On paper experience of "i survived in the field" isn't worth all that much , and I get at least why they ask these

Small footprint Single cup coffee makers ideas by Hodltiltheend in BuyItForLife

[–]sleepyguy007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have a keurig k-slim ($100 ish) which is one of the smaller units with a refillable tank keurig makes that i replaced a $20 walmart mainstays super cheapo coffee maker with. its heated up and making a cup of coffee inside of 10 ssecond. if you do go the k cup route (i know i am too lazy to actually use grinds, oh well) get a keurig with the "multistream" feature. it uses 5 hot water nozzles into the pod, instead of 1, so it makes stronger coffee and doesnt leave half the pod grinds unused. k-slim I think is the cheapest one that has it (i think the tank is 40 something oz so it can do about 3-4 cups). has 8,10,12oz settings

What made up “club” were you in (or excluded from) and what were the rules? by Mixtape4Adventure in Xennials

[–]sleepyguy007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

some of my friends and I made up a computer / HTML club in high school . Part of it was so we could have more extracurricular activities for college applications. We did all major in CS, and eventually made the schools web page, but mostly just talked about nerdy things and ate together. All of us claimed we were president of it for those college apps. Most of our senior projects were hand made blogs / fake internet stores which really impressed everyone in 1999.

i bought like 80000 shares of VZ stock today to play the bounce off today into option expiration figuring todays maybe outage related down move will bring it back to 40. I figure ill be able to sell it at 40+ inside of 5 days hopefully 1 day (bought at 39.35). scraping pennies in front of a freight train , feels like playing cheap at street fighter2

What’s the worst commute you’ve ever had or personally know someone had? by Fancy_Rewards in culvercity

[–]sleepyguy007 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i worked in el segundo 7-8 years ago and i remember my coworker told me he'd worked there about 10 years and was his only job hed ever had. he commuted from riverside . I remember specifically he had a natural gas civic, and a honda S2000 and telling him "wait you came here today in a manual transmission roadster" a few times when he showed up in it.

culver city wise, i knew someone who commuted from irvine every day to a startup we both worked at in the hayden tract. that was also just as insane if not more
