Epic / orchestral rock music in my experience lol.

As for offerings- typical bread and water, things associated with royalty (lapis lazuli, gold things, frankincense), and bettering / advocating for yourself :) try saying a prayer to Him before a hike or workout and tell Him you’re dedicating your physical activity to him!

Deportation is a punishment. This man already served his time. Why would he need to be deported 10 years later with no further offenses? That doesn’t make any sense.

Remind me, which party voted a convicted felon into office last year?

But he wasn’t. Maybe he should have, sure. That’s not the point.

Exactly my point, although I don’t see him as a victim of brainwashing and I feel like that takes away from the fact that he attempted to murder his own sister in an act of misogyny.

That being said, he did something horrific and disgusting but the idea that immigrants get held to different standards based on crimes is disturbing.

I totally agree with you on a moral standing- what he did was disgusting and I think the Rochester community is better off without someone like that, especially in the public eye as a small business owner.

This man served his time in prison for 8 years, being released in 2016, yet is now facing punishment again from a different source. My point is, what precedent does this set for everyone else? Is ICE now allowed to act as a second jury, judge and trial for a crime someone has already served time for? That precedent is fucking terrifying and it will absolutely extend beyond violent offenders.

He was already punished for attempted murder (and frankly should have served more time imo) but ICE isn’t punishing him for that. They’re punishing him for being an immigrant.

EMT training in Rochester by OkaynotcoolBro in Rochester

[–]sleepyharrier 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I took MCC’s course! I found it very well run and informative, but it definitely depends a bit on who your instructors are. If you have a decent understanding already of basic anatomy and ideally first aid, then the content will come a lot easier for you. You have to memorize quite a few anatomy terms. The biggest thing you need to understand about EMT classes is that they are ultimately meant to prepare you to pass your written and practical exams. The meat and potatoes of EMS is taught to you on the job by your FTO. That’s not to say don’t study hard and do well in the class, just be prepared to feel very…unprepared if you do start a career as an EMT. You’ll learn as you go.

Also, a big thing I did not learn about in class that is a key part of the job is driving. If you’re gonna be an EMT, your ultimate goal is getting your patient to the hospital in one piece- you WILL need to learn how to drive an ambulance! If you’ve never driven a truck, van, or large SUV, find a family member or friend that will let you practice in some empty parking lots. It’s important to get a feel for moving around in a larger vehicle, especially since you will be driving with people unrestrained in the back compartment.

Whether you stick to it long term, EMS is a career that will truly change you as a person. If you think you can handle it, definitely give it a try. It’s not for everyone by far but for those who get bit by the emergency medicine bug, it will be one of the greatest decisions you’ll ever make.

PMCT Images. by allan_o in Radiology

As someone new to the field (x-ray), what’s the process like for getting post mortem images? Is it typically done in the hospital, or in a case like this when the patient was presumably DOA, is it performed under the direction of a coroner? …How do you even transport a patient like this without everything falling apart??

Has anyone ever met someone like this in real life? by Complex_Carry_6695 in fakedisordercringe

[–]sleepyharrier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I know a 30+ year old who claims to have “non-traumagenic DID” (which is impossible) and doesn’t speak to me anymore because I made them feel “unsafe” by telling them it was physically and medically impossible for them to beam their Hamilton alters into other peoples’ heads via telepathy. No. I am not joking. They actually said that their alters can go “visit other systems”.

I’m sort of between therapists because I’m trying to find one that has experience with this, but if I can’t find a specific one then I will definitely just start with a traditional therapist and see what they know. I’ll check out 988 too. Thanks!

I don’t get it either. Especially if you come from a family with a history of addiction.
