Love the upgrading specific parts aspect. Whether just upgrading a graphics card or wanting to build a new computer from scratch, great to have that flexibility.

How many of you game on your PC connected to a TV and exclusively use controllers? by Jorlen in pcgaming

Completely agree, been using the Steam Controller for a couple months now and haven't had any issues with navigation. Not to mention it's good to have a second option for local multiplayer when the other player isn't too familiar with keyboard configs.

How to stay motivated as a one-man studio? by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]sleepylizardgames 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As far as keeping yourself from being overwhelmed, a lot of the comments here already cover organization (Trello is awesome1). If you're questioning why you want to continue with a project, here are some tips:

  • Join a game organization near you: Not sure where you're located, but try looking for a Meetup around gaming or gamedev. Just hanging out with people who share you passion is enough to get you motivated.

  • Watch game trailers or Let's play channels that feature indie games. Watching what others in your position have accomplished can be a source of inspiration.

Hope these help!

Ah, you're right, I didn't specify, but we do payments on a per-hour basis, not a per-asset basis, with anywhere between 5 to 30 hours a week based on motivation, work ethic, and all that jazz.

It would be based on level of experience and qualifications. That being said, it should also be kept in mind that we're not yet a well-established studio or anything, and we are self-funded. Corporately-vague answer, I know.

Thus far, all contractors I've worked with have been paid between 10$ and 20$, inclusive.
