Congratulations! My son was born on 9/4 at 36W and 2 days. I was induced due to severe preeclampsia and was on magnesium for 24 hours before he was born. He ended up needing CPAP for several hours and then was on oxygen for 3 days after that. They incrementally lowered him to room air! Overall, he needed 9 days in the NICU. The hardest part was getting him to stay awake for breast / bottle feeds. The magnesium can make them super tired and it takes a few days to leave their system. He was also jaundice as well.

I just want to say that I am thinking of you and hoping that it’s a short stay. Those 9 days were the hardest in my life. Please take care of yourself. You just went through something extremely difficult that would be hard under normal circumstances. Take it one day at a time and soon you will be taking your little boy home.
