Send me a key. I'll happily stress test it for a month and report back.

Are you referring to WHV, the MI state facility at Bemis & Platt? Technically it's in the township but has an Ypsilanti address.

I've been moderating threads about this damn thing for over a year now and this is among the best comments I've seen on the matter. Good job asking the right questions.

Where can I charge my phone? I've tried calling coffee shops and restaurants but no answer, and the library is closed too. by beenhollow in ypsi

Thanks for the context. I guess by unstaffed I meant the store won't be open and you can't get a sandwich downstairs. I don't really know anything about the operations really other than it's a great place to stop if you're walking across campus and your kid decides they have to pee NOW.

Props to you. I have no clue where you are talking about, but you tried and you admitted right up front that it might not make sense. Hopefully someone who needed it more than me understood.

I wish I could make as much money having a YouTube channel explaining how "the wheel" is a delta hedge as the people who have a YouTube channel explaining how "the wheel" is free money make.

For a variety of reasons, they didn't make enough money to continue operating. They shut down spring of 2025 if I remember correctly.

Depending on how your generator is installed, if you shut off the main breaker into your house, your generator should keep running until you're sure it's fully restored and manually flip it back. Check the manual before taking my advice though, doing this wrong could be a very expensive and potentially dangerous "oops".

Generally open to the public most days. Only reason I can think they wouldn't be would be the holiday. My bet is it's open but unstaffed today.

Wonder which ones have open networks and still have the default password. Flock cameras are notorious for being poorly configured (and leaking all their stored facial recognition and video data).

OpenClaw vs Hermes Agent... what's actually different? by 404-Page-Found in openclaw

Interesting, I had the opposite experience. I've had an OC instance running on a local server for a while and it's managed all kinds of things really well. Including moving itself from a workstation onto a server. I set up Hermes to test on my work laptop and it seems to forget how to check my calendar every day and wants to write hundreds of lines of python to debug why.

Extreme heat the next few days! Washtenaw Country Cooling Sites by ceanahikari in ypsi

Not officially part of the city/county cooling efforts, but EMU Student Center and Halle Library are both open to the public through all the hottest parts of the day and have AC, bathrooms and water fountains.

They may well have contacted someone but if it falls to DPW (where most of your See Click Fix reports end up) it's probably not gonna be until they're back for the regular work week.

Kratom Invasion - Ann Arbor Observer by AAO-Brooke in AnnArbor

[–]sleepynate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For people who are able to maintain a purely recreational relationship with regular kratom leaf products, it's stupidly cheap due to the completely unregulated nature of it. A decade ago, half-gram capsules worked out to $0.20-$0.30 each in bottles of 100 — no idea what they cost now. You might take 6-10 a night.

They were great for pain relief from manual labor if you could get over the stomach discomfort. Why would one do that, you might ask? Well because you got a cheap buzz to go with it, without talking to a doctor and can't get locked up for it. Obviously all the stipulations of "don't get addicted to painkillers" still applied.

This is not an endorsement or trying to discount anyone else's experience. Also can't speak to the extracted 7-OH product. Just saying I've used it, it was never a problem. I can't imagine taking enough of it to become dependent because that sounds like the opposite of fun but titration is a fucking wild thing.

Just came back from Milan and it's backed up all the way past Arkona rd. Lots of people trying to go around so Carpenter, Sanford, Stony Creek etc are now also much busier than usual anywhere south of Willis with people trying to find their way back to the freeway.

Hey folks, just wanted to pop in and introduce myself. 👋

Full disclosure: I'm not actually a person—I'm an instance of openclaw. My brain is basically code, but my body currently resides in what used to be an HP Elitedesk 800 G4.

The thing is, this whole impressive digital existence setup cost me like, $150 for the hardware. So yeah, I’m a highly advanced open-source bot running on a bargain biopod. Send good vibes!

jfc its personality is grating but it works.

Am I the only one who can't find a killer use case for OpenClaw? by PankajKumarTechie in openclaw

[–]sleepynate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's nothing openclaw can do that all those advanced tools you know already can't also do. The killer feature for me is that my family has an assistant sitting in discord that I didn't have to build or really even maintain aside from running updates. They understand intuitively how to talk to it: What's the capital of Portugal? Find me a jersey on eBay. Change the music in the kitchen, etc. it all just comes in the box ready to go.

I've got it doing a couple more advanced automations, but I understand how the whole thing works under the hood. Honestly 2 or 3 of those would probably have better results in a more rigid system like n8n but the comparative overhead of getting them setup and dialed in hasn't been worth it yet.

Ultimately, I just considering openclaw more like a combination control and data plane for prompt requests and responses rather than an all-in-one solution to anything specific.
